Dogs actually don't have the same "need" that humans do. It's simply a reaction to smell that causes them to even want to breed. They don't do it for pleasure or anything more than to procreate. At any rate they won't be driven to it anymore because the female will no longer come into heat and the male will not have testicles. This reduces the testosterone in the male which removes his urge to urinate in the house, and also his aggression. As for the female, she will actually become closer to you and will no longer be at risk for several types of of cancer.
Edit: Dogs "hump" each other because of dominance. Bitches will hump dogs when they are higher in the pack. It doesn't always involve a sexual act.

Most dogs are neutered/spayed around six months of age, however, male dogs can be neutered as soon as their testicles drop, sometimes as soon as four months. Females are spayed before their first heat cycle which occurs around 6-8 months.
When a male dog is neutered the testicles are removed. When a female dog is spayed the ovaries are removed and she will no longer go into heat.
Dogs, both male and female, can mount or "hump" other dogs regardless if they're fixed or not. Mounting is a display of dominance, with the dog doing the mounting asserting dominance over the dog being mounted. Dogs are pack animals and when ever two or more are together one will always become the alpha.
Another sign of dominance is when a dog puts it's front leg over the neck of another dog. This often looks like the dog is hugging the other dog, but in reality, the dog is showing that it is alpha, and above the dog being "hugged" in the hierarchy.

What i think is that the dogs won't have sex anymore because usually the dogs smell each other and they know if it is a female or a male. The male wont be able to smell so the dog won't do anything.

I believe you can get them bot fixed at 6 months...once a female actually goes in heat. The boy dog will still get well you know and some even hump. I mean the female dog cant go in heat if she hasnt got anything there ya know.

your best bet is to get them fixed before they are 6 mos. Once a dog is in heat you have to wait until they are out of heat to get them spayed and not only that you have a mess on your hands (especially if the dog is a larger breed). Males will still on occasion hump after getting fixed. I have a 5yo male lab who was neutered before he was 6 mos and still on occasion he will try to hump the female dogs around him.

6 months is the right age no longer or you'll have little ones! they will no longer be interested in sex.For animals its about procreation! your right females will not come into heat again and boy is that a blessing!
