Hello! I'm glad to know that you want to learn Portuguese (it's really an amazing language, but hard!). Well, it's true that Portuguese and Spanish are fairly similar, I'm brazilian and I can speak Spanish easily, although I have never attended any Spanish classes (I have learned it by myself ). But it's only because my native language is Portuguese, it probably can be harder for you because you can confuse they both. On the other hand, if you already speak French, maybe you can learn their grammar easily (all the latin languages have their similarities). Only you can decide it, but if you don't try, you won't know. Good luck.
