My research told me that Male Golden Retrievers should be bigger. We got a female from a breeder. Our Female Retriever is now bigger than the average male and is bigger than both her mother and father. Go figure!

being a fair minded person and lots of history, i would bet that if you take an equal amoutn of each gender an put the men in one bag and the women in another bag, roll down the tops, shake vigerously and unroll the bags, you will get the same smell out of both bags. i think we should all just get along.

I would assume males but not in all breeds. and why would it really matter? I know in spiders the female is usally the larger one and often eats her mate after sex.
