GOOD QUESTION! I don't believe in religiosity- I believe in God, Christ my Saviour and in being spiritual, but not "religiosity"! The pious Pharisees of Jesus' day were put down as arrogant, proud, scornful and rude. So, to answer your question it would probably be a narcisstic co-dependence or a false martyr complex. Christians aren't necessarily psychologically disordered, athough I'm sure atheists are!

I don't believe that being religious or spiritually minded is a psychological disorder. However, there are people from all religions who go to extremes, and hurt themselves and others, as we are seeing right now in history happening before our eyes.
Most often, these so called religious people are mixing culture, politics and religion, to meet there own agendas, and THAT is a social problem. In lesser developed countries, where people are poor and uneducated, and hopeless, they desperately want to see change, and do whatever they think will relief there social justice structure. These individuals, as said above, are often hopeless, and fearful, they fear what they do not understand, like freedom, and they are depressed, and THAT is a psychological problem, that leads to all the horror they act out.

Q. How many logical falacies (and variations thereof) can you cram into one sentence?

A. 1. False Dichotomy; 2. False Cause; 3. Ad hominem; 4. Strawman....

FOUR?!!! That has to be some kind of record. And I'm sure there could be more, but this is me on 3 hours of sleep, a long day at work and just some celery sticks for dinner. I mean, this isn't even me on my A game.

bollocks.

Narcissism

it isn't a psycological disorder(if you really mean spirituality). religiousity is something else entirely.
if you're referring to the belief on god and/or goddess and the after life, it's as old as homo sapiens. neanderthal also had spiritual beliefs like that of the after life, putting items useful to the living and charms into graves.
the belief in god/goddess is hardwired into our brains and before us it was hardwired into neanderthal brains, even though we are supposedly not related to neanderthal, we have this in common with them and not with the chimpanzee.

Bashing isn't good for anyone. I'm not religious but I don't like when they bash us--we don't need to foster hate. no offense but you should retract this question.
