It was a 1GB video file and when I converted it to WAV it took like a second to convert, but the file it made is only a small fraction of what I wanted to convert.
I used a trial version of ConvertMovie 3.0 to convert the vob file to ultimately acquire the wav file.

You should be aware that most Trialware are limited. It can be time limited, software crippled or savings option limited. In your case it would be only saving partial file, example for a min or two. Read the info on its limitation.

Download and try DVD Audio Extractor V3.4.1.

If you don't want to buy anything - here's a workaround - a VOB file is basically an MPEG4 file. Convert it to MPEG1 or MPEG2 using any DVD convertors.

Next open it in GoldWave audio editor and resave as a MP3 or Wav or any other audio format you like.
