I have tested to get to the center of a tootsie pop and how many licks it actually takes. I have counted to 1294, thats it. Anyone close?

Actually some college students made a machine to simulate licking of a tootsie pop and it was something like 250-300 licks, but I can't remember the exact number or what college.
You might be able to research it, bet you didn't think you'd get a real answer. lol

My friend along time ago said he did it in about 1200 give or take, he wrote to the tootsie pop people and they allegedly gave him something for it... this was years ago.

Uhm first of all..You need to get a hobby, Second of all...Thats awesome that you have patience enough to sit and count it! Thirdly Its ONE TWO THREE!!! AND ITS GONE! It took me like an hour to eat one once. I got to like 10 licks and i forgot to count :)

I actually got to around 3,000 licks, but it would take me about 5 licks to get around the whole sucker, so I'd say around 1,500-2,000 licks.
