I have a canal behind my house. Inside that canal is schools and schools of minnows. I started out taking little bread dough balls and throwing them into the canal. I threw one to the left, and all the minnows would frantically swim over to the left. I'd throw another dough ball on over to the right, and all those minnows would frantically swim on over to the right. Yep, they would chew up all those dough balls! It was kind cool to watch. Hours of entertainment. Then one day one of my neighbors was watching me feed the minnows and came over. He showed me a cool trick. If I threw a piece of dead leaf in to the canal, all the minoows would swim over there and try to eat the leaf! They'd all attack it frantically. I'd did it again and again and again. Dumb minnows! They just kept on swimming where ever I threw the pieces of dead leaves. Now I do this little trick all the time, and watch those little minnows swim all over the place for nothing. I think it's funny. Is this a Sin?

I think we are the minnows and you have been throwing the dough in different directions just to amuse yourself. Nothing wrong with that. People are funny creatures....I think I can see you now sitting on the banks of the canal..your a little blurry but I'm sure that's you up there....hey throw me some dough!

Do you feel like you have sinned? The hours of fun you had by doing a good deed gave you enjoyment and gave the minnows food. Then your find torture them just as equal as entertaining. If I was to place you in a wading pool and was able to keep you there and fed you dough balls then one day fed you dry leaves watching you try and eat something that will not give you any value. Personally I would feel I have sinned. I can't judge you nor will I that is not my job to tell you what is right and wrong. God created the heavens and the earth and gave life. even the smallest of creatures live because God said so.

wow u are actually a really nice guy compare to many other christians who would probably not even both caring about these things even among people
Anyways, just be nicer to the minnows and feed them once a while before u make them exhaust themselves for no reason. The live of a minnow isnt long you know, a little here and there is incredible for them/

What have you got to lose by giving them dough balls, they would still run, and you will continue watching them swim frantically for it. Give them the dough balls, certainly you wouldnt want a free entertainment right?

I think I read "thou shalt not torment thy neighbors fish" or something like that. Nope, my mistake. The commandment mentions goldfish, not minnows, so you are ok.
No, can't imagine it is a sin unless you are spending hours doing it and watching them die in exhaustion. Sounds like good clean wholesome fun.

nah I wouldn't think of it as a sin but it is cruel... you should feed them instead of tease them.

I so agree with Fishi....put yourself in that situation. Do you believe in reincarnation? Hope you never come back as a minnow!

No, definitely not. That's an awesome story. You might want to feed them some more dough occasionally, you don't want them to die on you, leaving you without entertainment!
