I'm going to die at a young age. i don't know when but i know I'm losing years off my life. the scary part is i don't care. even if i am a husband and a father, i don't care if I'm going to lose years of being with my family. why? because i smoke. i smoke and like it. if i was to try to quit smoking to live longer and enjoy my family, i know i would not be able to. it's too addictive. i smell like smoke my lugs feel like they are hardening over the years I've been smoking, when i die it will be something like lung cancer, emphysema, heart attack. who knows what? but i can tell you it will be painful and take a long time to kill me. but i just can't quit. it's something i wish i never started. and in that alone is a good reason not to start.

try checking out www.philipmorris.com for information about smoking. other then that I'm not sure where else to look on line

You can check out the American Cancer Society website and the official R.J. Reynolds website as well; both have plenty of resource info on the subject of your speech.

And this answer comes from someone passionate about Smoker's Rights, a movement I support and advocate. I feel smoking is a person's own choice that should be exactly that: their choice--not one made for them by their "democratic" government.

Used in moderation, smoking hazards CAN be sharply reduced. But you WON'T see that PROVEN FACT on Surgeon General advisements on cigarette packs....and it's something the American Cancer Society would rather keep quiet on as well; due in part to the HUGE $$$ given them by our government for maintaining the anti-smoking lobby.

One cigarette releases 3 trillion free radicals in the body. It is the free radicals that are the cause of most disease's including cancer and heart disease. A free radical is an unstable molecule that steals an electron from a body cell in order to stabilize itself but in the process destabilizes the body cell from which it stole the electron. If millions of our body cells are destabilized in this way, their production goes haywire, resulting in cancer.

It causes cancer.

There are millions of chemicals they put in the cigarrettes. Many of them deadly.

Go to yahoo.com home page and do a search on 'smoking dangers'.

learn to spell correctly and then people will be able to read what you type and understand that you are telling them that smoking is dangerous and the 2nd leading cause of preventable death in the United States, and also that it is the cause of lung cancer, and most people who die from lung cancer, don't/didn't/never smoked.

because it makes your face wrinkle prematurely, your teeth and hair yellow, you and your breath smell horrible! colorado recently enacted a smoking ban and a lot of people were p***ed off because they didn't get to vote on it. if we got to vote on everything the health dept decided was for our own good, sooooooo many restaurants would be filthy and selling salmonella burgers. try this site: http://www.tenantrights.net/text/pg-nonsmoker.html. good luck!
