You're working on the file, or another program has it open.
Close the file, then attach it.
If you don't have the file open in another program and still can't attach it, get the free Unlocker program from here:
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
It will allow you to free up the "locks" on the file placed by other programs, and then you can attach the file.

GMail and hotmail doesnt allow .exe files to attach .. they'll show access denied.
if u want to attach them , jus change their extension to .zip or .doc and then try to attach those files.
and also check whether ur login has the permisiion to attach files with the mails..

It might be the problem of the file u r trying to attach . Try to attach any other file ..

are you working on unix or linux?
check if everyone has atleast read access to that file!

Check what all permissions you have on that file. If you are using windows XP, please verify that the file is not encrypted..
