Grief is a psychologically essential process that society is coming to accept as an important part of the human existence. Understanding grief is the first step to understanding weather it can give you wisdom. From a personal psychological standpoint every activity we engage in is then after part of our "wisdom." The process of grief therein is the engaging and participation in a better understanding of ones own wisdom. By engaging in grief one adds an additional layer of wisdom to their own over all knowledge of reality. In effect, with age comes wisdom, and with age comes grief.

I'm not so sure. I've had an awful lot of grief in my life! I've been depressed and not learned anything from it because I was too focused on myself. But I've also been depressed and got through it by learning about others and their needs and how to get past my self by being more helpful to them. You can throw yourself a major pity party and call it grief or you can get over yourself and move on to contributing to life- the choice is yours! How smart is it to grieve over things we have no control over? The bible says if we want wisdom all we need do is ASK!

Yes I do belive that wisdom can come from grief. It may not happen as fast as you would like but it will happen. We never see the reasons @ the time of grief but when they hit you know. Kim h

Absolutely. Sometimes our mind becomes so dulled/fogged by everyday life that our perspectives can only be cleared by us being yanked out of our predetermined mindsets, through a means like grief.

Yes, sometimes we need disasters, accidents, or bad things to happen in order for us to open our eyes wider and understand life brighter or why we're here on Earth. Look at the WTC. After it happened, for a year, everyone joined hands and the level of crime and abortions lowered. Now, people are starting to go back to what they use to and I believe God has something else planned because people aren't getting it...

Of course. What you are grieving over you learn not to do again or how to deal with it better next time. That's wisdom.
