I stopped eating poultry after this chicken flu thing started to buss in Media. I know that i'm probably overreacting. Some people say that you get infected only through "a close contact" with it's feathers (sounds funny, i know), and the virus dies after you cook it, the others say, that it doesn't die. Well, anyway, everybody's eating poutry and nobody gets infected. Can i possibly get infected or is it one of the Media's tricks? (by the way, thank you guys for your answers regarding my McD's question :-)

Yes, I do still eat poultry. Love long it is cooked all the away, is noway that you can die. Frying, boiling, baking, the chicken all that in it dies. So it's your choice to if you still want to stay away from poultry. They said the same a Mad cow diease, what's next don't drink milk because it comes from cows. :D

Yes I do eat poultry. I think I eat more chicken than any other kind of meat. Getting infected with the avian bird flu by close contact with a feather (of all things) sounds like a bunch of crap to me. I haven't heard too much about the bird flu lately. Honestly, I wouldn't be worried about getting infected. The media has a way of twisting the truth & making a big scare out of everything. You know what they say, don't believe everything you hear.

I stay away from chicks who don't want their feathers ruffled. It is a deed most fowl. There are those poultry few who deny the spread of bird flu. They pooh pooh the threat. But one cannot duck the issue. This is not a wild goose chase. The stakes are real, and the bill will soon be due. We cannot just fly by the seat of our pants or wing it. This may be hard to swallow, but heron lies the tale. Birds of a feather get sick together.

Dear, you are not over-reacting. The poultry of today, as well as the other meats...including especially the meat, poultry and fish from the over-crowded farm conditions is far from healthy. Today's human race does NOT require any meat to live a very healthy lifestyle. Our ancestors did eat meat but they required the heavy protein constituents in meat in order to survive in the harsh environment that was present for many of the early humans. The hunters ate meat in order to run miles after the prey...eating meat in these harsh time ensured the pre-human's survival. We live in times of plentiful nutrition. We don't need to hunt anymore and most of the stresses in the world are generated from day to day experiences with other humans. Most of the energy expended by people today is mental and not physical. Cutting poultry and all meat (and even all animal products as vegans like me do) will only enhance your life and your health. Consider your health and consider the well being of the animals we share this planet with. They deserve to also be treated with respect and kindness. Who knows really if any poultry is truly safe anymore, anyway?!

If you eat poultry bird flu is the least of your problems. Consider growth hormones and other chemicals used in the production of chickens. You eat these.

don't be fooled, there is no easier way, that I know of, to get your protein, than eating meat. And nothing hits the spot better than chicken wings, or the Colonel, grilled chicken, chicken strips...etc.
