Yes, it will, just wait till 2008, the new 6 cyl diesel should be out by then. It will be basically the same engine as the 6.0 liter powerstroke, but with two less cylinders. I recently attended a diesel training class in DC, and was informed of this new engine coming to market.
Gearbox (below) I think you are right, because the new design v8 diesel due out is the first one using high pressure fuel delivery instead of oil pressure fired injectors. No cracking loose fuel lines at 30,000 psi! I forgot about that, thanks

It would be a good choice for the F150. The current V8 burns alot of gas for a 1/2 ton. A V6 diesel would equal in power and get mileage in the 20's. I hope Ford makes this engine. I'd try one.

yugie... I though the 6.0 was going way of the dinosar due to emisions and that Ford had wanted to put the 4.5 out of the LCF in the F-150 but kind of scrapped the idea after having so many issues with the 6.0?
I will say probably gonna happen but would be based off of newer 6.4 supposedly coming out...
Ford already has a v-6 diesel in F-250s in the south american market but unknown why it isn't here other than possible emmision concerns

They've been training for and saying they will have it since 1997, when the taurus-with-a-bed body style came out. I saw a demonstrator in Augusta, ME in 1997, no mistaking the diesel smell and sound. So, as long as they say they're coming out with one, I'll keep not believing them. I'll believe it when I can pull into the dealership and take one for a test drive.
