I love Rachael and I learned how to cook just by watching her show. I was reading some of the reviews from one of her recipes and those people were saying it takes longer than 30 minutes to cook the meal and that she is a liar, does anyone agree? I know that when i cook it takes me a lot longer than 30 min because i dont have a screen in front of me telling me what to do and i dont have the recipe already in my memory so im constantly re-reading the recipe. I have only been cooking for a couple of years but I think some people are like being really mean because she can cook in 30 minutes and they cant. what do you think?

Rachael seems to be a good cook but she smiles to much... Did you ever notice that she and Katharine McPhee (American Idol) look a lot alike - they can even pass as sisters.

Congrats on your learning how to cook the wonderful things Rachel has on her show! May you have many years of happy cooking! I follow her recipes (although I alter them for my vegan needs...i.e. I substitute tofu for the meat and use soy milk for the regular cream, etc) and I have never needed more than 30 minutes to cook one of her delicious meals. The key is to organize your meals before hand. Get your ingredients ready, get the pans in place, the knives, the chopping block, etc. Take that darn phone off the hook, too. After cooking with the type of organization Rachel uses, your meals will also continue to be fabulous and 30 minutes or under!!! Happy cooking for many, many more years, dear!

it's not prep and cook in 30 minutes necessarily. most of the stuff she cooks is right at her fingertips...i think if you prepare your kitchen properly in order with the recipes you wish to cook then you will have no problem doing any of her recipes in 30 mins. i do it all of the time. a tip: when you jot a recipe down, put each step on a different note card. that way when you finish that step you turn it over and start on the next step. you'll avoid skimming the entire recipe over and over again. and you'll always know exactly where you're at. have fun:)

I've tried a few of her recipes and have cooked them in 30 minutes. So the 30 minute meal thing is true.

A tip is to have all of your ingredients out and ready. That means have everything that needs chopping, chopped already.

I've never had a problem making her recipes in 30 mins or less. It would appear that "some people" just want a reason to bash her where none really exists. There are always going to be people with a need to be negative, pay them no attention. They do eventually grow up...and then they nag their children into neuroses.

It takes 30 minutes or less to COOK the meal, but the prepping and all that is the thing they don't tell you about.

I could watch Rachael Ray all day... who cares if she can cook fast. What does bug me though is in the newer programs she is gesturing more, like she got an acting coach or something. Rachael... if you're out there... just be yourself.

De....lish!!!

besides the fact all her vegetables are practically pre washed and presorted. And all her ingredients are right there.

30 minutes isn't impossible.
