Do you ever feel like the "Christian" God is the white man's God. When I look at things like the poverty level of minorities and third world countries, and all the natural disasters affecting them-while our "white leaders" say things like "well they didn't have anything anyway, so this is working out well for them", it really makes me stop and think.

Matt...just because Jesus was born in an Arab country has not stopped millions of whites from portraying him as white (with blonde/brunette hair and light highlites). I rarely see Arab Jesus' anymore. I even spoke to a catholic "brother" who asked us if we thought Jesus was blonde like he did? Give me a break. It's true that Jesus was Arab, but if whites continue to portray him as white and hide the truth on that, it worries me what else they've hidden the truth on Biblically speaking.

The Judeo-Christian God is a God for all people of all races, ethniticities and colors.
Do not confuse the greed of world leaders with the "Christian God" for the affluent white.
In many African countries, there are civil wars led by warlords who will kill anybody attempting to help the rival tribes.
In Countries like Iraq where Saddam Hussein was incredibly wealthy and incredibly powerful, he also proved to be an incredible failure as a leader of a country when you factor in "providing for all of the citizens of the country".
In most of the civilized world, there is religious tolerance and acceptance across the board (yes, there will always be a small group who hates and attacks people of other religions) but in smaller countries and third world countries there is less religious tolerance. If a poor person does not belong to the religion of the leaders - that person will probably be persecuted.
I agree that the free world does have a moral and ethical obligation to help those who are being persecuted for issues of race, religion and ethniticity but that is the responsibility for the FREE WORLD - Not the United States alone, not Canada alone, not France alone, not Australia alone but all of the free world.
As long as the United Nations exists in it's current uncaring form - don't expect any change to occur.

Christianity is for all, the color of the skin is not what matters. It seems you have noticed a lot of discrimination going around, but I assure you that they are like the self-righteous Pharisees whom Jesus condemned utterly. The paintings of Jesus which you have seen are all the result of an artist's imagination. They can be considered merely as a piece of art. Jesus was a Jew when he took on the flesh of man, so I assume, He'd look like a typical Jew. There are many forms of conduct/worship in Christianity. You can join any church which would best suit you because these minor things should not get in your way of getting closer to God. Racism is not just wrong but so uncool. So stop worrying about the ratio of whites/non-whites and interact with people with whom you feel comfortable and can share about the love of God. God bless.

Egads, Jesus was Middle Eastern already! The only reason that most Christians are "white" is where the religion spread and how. Many countries have been closed off from missionaries or had a state religion for many years...but Christianity is reaching out to all people and God loves them all!

I don't think so, it's just that so many Europeans became Christians with the Holy Roman Empire and such, and that just spread out forever--but Africans picked up elements of Catholicism during the slave trade, and the religion originated in the Middle East and is very THE dominent religion on every continent except Asia, so I don't see why it should be considered "whites only."

Do you really believe W is a man of God? Listen, when I was a kid we used to go hang out on the back steps of the Morning Star Baptist Church just to hear them sing. I was a white Catholic that was forbidden to go in (lest I go to Hell or something along those lines) but man did those folks have soul. They had 1000 times more spirituality that the crowd at St. Anne's. They were mostly poor (in $) plantation raised blacks that were usually happier than most of the white people I knew. I was taught by some of those people some very important lessons. Like not to judge people by the color of their skin and not to assume that the lack of material wealth is the cause of people's unhappiness. Judging people for what they have limits ambition and smug jerks like the Bush's have pi**ed so many people off that they have to live in locked compounds and have 24 hr. guards. That don't sound to happy to me.

In the past 2,000 years, the vast majority of Christians have been white/European. While Christianity had its beginnings in the Middle East, it spread rapidly to Europe and parts of Asia where Caucasians were the predominant race. The history of Christianity is filled with expansions, but mostly throughout Europe and Asia, then on to the West in the 15th century. Christianity has not had nearly the same success spreading among Middle Easterners, Africans, and Asians, and this has led many to declare that Christianity is a religion for white people.
Christianity was never intended for white people only. The first Christians were all Semitic in ethnicity and likely had light- to dark-brown skin. Christianity having been predominantly a white religion in past centuries has nothing to do with the message of Christianity. Rather, it is due to the failure of Christians to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the world (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8). The apostle John declared that Jesus Christ is the propitiation for the sins of the entire world [all races and nationalities] (see 1 John 2:2). Spiritually, men of all races are one due to the presence of a common sickness—sin. Sin entered the human race at the Fall, and because of Adam and Eve’s disobedience, sin has been an inheritance for all of their descendants. Romans 5:12 tells us that, through Adam, sin entered the world and so death was passed on to all men because all have sinned.
But just as sin entered the human race by one man, so does redemption come by one Man, Jesus Christ. Forgiveness of sin, the essence of Christianity, is offered to all races, colors, creeds, and genders, to all “those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness” through Him (Romans 5:18). In giving His life as a substitute for sin, Jesus Christ purchased for God with His blood "men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation" (Revelation 5:9). No, Christianity is not a white man’s religion. Christianity is not a black, brown, red, or yellow religion either. The truth of the Christian faith is universally applicable to all people.

nobody really portrays Jesus right , 1 thing is he was not attractive to look at , bible says that. 2 his hair was same as Jews back in his era if you wanna know how Jesus might have looked check out old Jewish ways 2000 yrs ago. he is a white mans god to me because I'm white . lol. but i do not picture him as white . i picture him with scars and if i remember right he was unrecognizable as a human being after he was beat and whipped and hair pulled out of his face , crown of thorns . stabbed in his side. so put all that Ive told you about him and picture him dying for everyone , do you really think after all that he was just for the white man , BULL , he died for every race he and god the father created

Christianity is a jewish sect and should have been confined to that part of the world where it originated. Unfortunately it spread under the protection of the Romans and has been causing havoc ever since.
