Why is America expected to be the peace keepers all the time? Why should we continue to change the diapers of the rest of the world? Some one has got to step up!!! We can't do it all !!

Well Ideally North Korea is not just the USA's problem...if the damn NoKors somehow get their rocketry right and marry it to their nukes then we have a genuine threat to world peace because these guys can blackmail anyone now into doing whatever it pleases (yes i know that the USA and the other Great powers have many more nukes than the NoKors can ever have but one nuke landing on Denver or even Vladivostok is enough to send them to panic...why do you think people want these bombs in the first place?) But if the USA does not want to handle NoKor then who? the Europeans...I think you Americans put it best when you called most of them (at least the ones in France and Germany) surrender monkeys...they will never commit to a military option and will most likely broker a stupid diplomatic agreement which the NoKors will just break again. The Russians? They will probably even sell air-defence missiles to them just like with Iran because they need more sources of revenues to rebuild their nation. The only ones who have even any chance or interest in handling the sitch are the South Koreans (who have a good military but are also using naive pacifism towards the north), the Japanese (who also suffer the same problems as the SoKors...but not for long if Koizumi gets his way) and the Chinese (unfortunately they are NoKor's ALLIES, not the USA's). The only way these guys will get together with the USA and stop NoKor is if Kim Jong ill does the unthinkable...which is actually nuking them. (and he isnt that crazy...yet). The nations above (including the USA) have only done one thing so far with regards to NoKor...talk and lots of cheap talk (you want to know how much talk gets you in the world...just ask the people who crafted the Munich Agreement of 1938 and the UN people during the Rwandan Genocide of 1994)

I think you need to do more research on this problem. The world is supporting the US in their efforts to help stop any nuclear aggression of North Korea. If you would read more than your local news .. go to the Internet and see what the world has to say bout the problem.

The reason we (USA) are at the for front of this verbal conflict is that it is a fact that we are the most Powerful Nation on Earth. (for now) When you are the Big Power on the Block you have a responsibility to the world to protect the weaker nations under distress. Clearly North Korea still believes that South Korea belongs to them. They feel that the USA is to blame for losing South Korea. They are a secret society and we as Americans wonder if they can be trusted to have nuclear bombs.

Do you want someone else having control over your sovernity and freedom. Diplomacy is the best bet for this conflict. Other nations are intervening in a diplomatic way.

Yes I think other country's should pitch in and help with handling North Korea. Besides the United States has better things to do.

North Korea is a problem that should be left to China. If things continue to be unstable there China will probably step in for there own interest. Also I don't think China will think kindly of us messing with someone that is in there back-yard.

I think Japan and China and possibly Russia would be able to handle them, if they would actually want to help us out. I agree that we can't do it all.

We did that once and the Cold War happened.
