There are some well-meaning Christians that think "courting" is the way to go. I read a book on it by an ultra-conservative that was just plain silly. Then there are the more level headed types of thought on the subject. I believe in (no matter what age you are) building a friendship first. That means getting to know the person well before any commitment of any kind, or any physical involvement too (kissing).
BTW: The actual Biblical way of courtship, if you want to put it that way, is rather crude and that site did not address it properly. The actual thing that took place was this, a man "covered the woman with his skirt", in todays terms, that means they slept together, and were then considered married. People lived in small villages all of their lives, knowing just those around them. So, picking a mate was usually easier than today, they had less choices and parents were involved too.
Personally, I want choices and I certainly DO NOT want my parents involved!
I know from experience, even as careful as I've been, that once you take a relationship to the "kissy" stage, your emotions take over and you can't see the person clearly sometimes.
Best to take things slow, what's the rush anyway? Time is on your side because it reveals a great deal about a person if you keep your eyes open and guard your heart.

Courtship & dating is the beginning of fellowship between 2 persons before love blossoms! After that refers Galatians 5:22.

You can be dating someone but not courting because courting would involve activities like dating. The thing is Dating can simply be getting to know someone. while courting is wanting to be with the one you are dating.
