Showing that you have a fun personality, for example smiling and looking vivacious. Most guys don't want to approach a girl who looks like an ice queen. I think guys can also be attracted to shy girls if they can manage to laugh at the stupid jokes that men usually tell. Men and women are interested in people who appear to be interested in them. But mainly, loosen up, be yourself, and try not to be awkward.

Small things make a girl UNapproachable:
1. Constantly being on her cell phone or her constantly checking it/texting. This shows there might be someone else.
2. Being very clingy to friends/groups in public. This shows an unwillingness to uncling from their presence and spend time with those interested.
3. Having a guy with her in public. Unless he's clearly gay because then there is, theoretically, no competition.
APPROACHABLE:
1. A nice perfume. Fruity/flowery is best. Works like a charm.
2. Innocence. Appearing shy.
3. Interactive. Some people are interactive with others before they even sit down to talk to them. Some people have a charm about them that just allows others to feel comfortable right from the start. I love when a girl is talking about a subject I have similar opinions about -- as simple or as profound as they may be. It gives me a nice opener and puts both on familiar ground right from the beginning.
4. Presentation. You have to look good, but not look like you went out with the attention of getting every guy in the place. For me, a guy who likes the fun, yet shy girls, I like a girl who wears little makeup and dresses casually/trendy without looking like they belong in an Abercrombie magazine.
5. Satisfaction guaranteed. I love when a girl is clearly not a spoiled brat and appreciates what she's given. This shows me she is easy to please.
6. Romantic. I love when a girl is receptive to cute things and romanticism. Ex: My cell phone used to have my nephew on it, he's about 2 years old. I had him recite my message for me. The girls who complimented it were the types of girls I can go for... the types who were like "ummm.. what was that?" or "that was kinda weird" are just simply not for me.

By own experience a good personality and great smile makes everything work. It's like magic. Got to be outstanding with your natural things, not only clothes, but also your eyes.
