In some ways , yes. The difficult times we face are more of a blessing. I know that Ive learned so much more in life going through the hard times than the easy ones. I believe during those hard times we become more humble and more open to Gods will for us. Those days only make us stonger.

Yes, they are. But difficult times are more of a blessing because it helps us to remember the good times. God lets us go through tough times to help us grow closer to Him. He never promised us a rose garden here on earth, but we do have a mansion in heaven.

Yes, they can be. Our light affliction, which lasts only for a moment, gives us a far greater weight of eternal glory (2 Corinthians 4:17)! That's why we are told to count it as a joy when we go through trials (James 1:2). Such situations draw us closer to God and teach us lessons that can only be learned through difficulties. God wants to give us a life of victory, where we triumph over every trial!

Your right many do only call on God when things are awful. Trials do cause perseverance, testing of our faith. they build strength. But sometimes God just wants to change something in us for His glory. Job is our prime example of a man who honored God but the devil was granted permission to torment him just so God would be glorified. Not all trials are from God. Sometimes the devil wants to cause doubt and sometimes it's our own darn faults. Either way if your being drawn closer to God by any means, count it all joy.

I think pleasant times are just a waiting period before more difficult times. But, yes, it's the hard times that make you who you are. People who've never been through hard times (if they actually exist) have nothing to talk about! They're boring!

yes - trials burn away the flesh and bring us closer to God. Trials give us opportunity to pray for wisdom, for the Holy Spirit's assistance, for a Christ-like mind, for a greTER SENSE OF gOD'S PRESENCE, TO SEE the good in all the happens, to pray that all our faith and hope will be in God alone. Sometimes trials are God's way of discipling us, purfying us, or simply to show His glory through resolution of our circumstance.
for me, my most difficult times razed my life - and i was rebuilt on the solid group of a firm foundation in Christ!

It is during the hard times that we grow as people and as Christians.
How many of us have faced a difficulty in life thinking we won't make it through this one only to still be here years later.

as bad as I hate it, tough times are how a Christian grows. both in faith and in spirit.. to be more Christ-like.
I heard a preacher put it like this..
you know how they melt gold down? they turn the heat up a little and you have gold with impurities ..but it's still gold!
turn it up more and then they are able to skim the impurities off , which makes a higher grade of gold.
turn it up to the hottest and it becomes pure gold.
sometimes God turns up the heat so we can be pure gold.
make sense?

I think so. I think that difficult times come to us because we have strayed too far from God. God wants us all close to Him and to do so is to seek Him out everyday and to put total trust into God.
