When I was in high school, I met my first love. We've been together for almost 9 years now, and all 9 have been incredible. Lots of people will tell you not to "settle" and to try out different people to see what's out there. Thing is, if you've found what you want, and you know it's what you want, you don't keep shopping. You go ahead and buy it, right?
Anyway, one of my friends in school asked me how you know he's the one. What I told her rang true for her. They're now happily married with 2 kids. I'm not saying I'm an expert or anything, but you wanted to know if it's how you feel about your guy. Chances are anything positive we say on here is gonna work for you. :P
I told her that when you wake up, he's the first thing you think about, and when you go to sleep, he's the last thing you think about.

Love is not something that can be put into words. It is a feeling that overwhelms you. When you wake up in the morning, your first thoughts are of them. When you fall asleep the last person you think of is them. When you are with them you couldn't be happier, even if you are fighting. When hanging out, not a word could be said but still leave at the end of the night thinking it was the best night of your life. Love cannot be put into words, but the feeling is amazing and undescribable.

One of my favourite definitions of love is a poem from the book Paradeisia:

The poem is saying that love is a willful act of self sacrifice, or it does not exist at all. Love is not a great emotional high; it is a commitment to sacrifice your own desires and interests for another person.

There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me and that is the word LOVE itself holds the answer.......
(L)isten: and Validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.
