So I have this fat cat in my lap, and he keeps farting in my face and I tell him to stop it, but he won't. How can I convince him that it's in his best interest to not fart in my face?

And yes, I have tried throwing him off my lap, but he just gets right back up, and does it all over again! I'm not going to abuse him though, I think his efforts are just misguided.

Although this question is likely a big, dumb joke, I feel compelled to add my two cents. Flatulence in a feline is likely from his food. (A nice mantra.) Try switching him to a diet that is easily digestable, like Eukanuba Low Residue or the pet store brands Nutro or Max Cat. You might also find that he doesn't poop as much when eating these foods, since they are absorbed more readily rather than just passing through. Good luck with that, Buddy.

its his diet, not his opinion of you!
are you feeding him lots of table scraps? he's probably got you convinced that life without table scraps isn't worth living.
put him on a "premium" brand of cat food and stop giving him all the table scraps. see if his farting doesn't slow down in a week or so.
and feel flattered that his favorite place in the world is lying on your lap! you realize that if he didn't WANT to be there, there's nothing in the world that could keep him there, don't you?

you could not let him in your face , spray him with water when he farts in your face or change his food , I understand from my vet that Lams cat food causes gas and Felix or whiskas is better.
I use Purina Friskies myself, and my cat doesn't have a gas problem. Hope this helps. Good luck.

So, um, who is bigger- you or him? Unless this is a "big cat" (lion, cougar, tiger, etc) I'd guess you win.
Pick him up and drop his hairy butt on the floor. And keep doing it till he gets the hint that he's not supposed to be on your lap, farting or not.

Anytime you don't like a cat's behaviour, just blow your breath gently at his nose. He'll like that just as much as you like his gas.
And don't listen to the sickos who recommend hitting or hurting him.

You hold that hairy pussey down and tell him to STOP! Then go fart in his face. If you're a guy, there is the option of force-feeding him one of your testicles.

Kitty needs to pass gas if his stomach hurts. Just move him if he starts doing it in your face. You don't expect kitty to hold it in do you? I'm sure you don't.

THIS SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH. MAYBE ITS A WAY OF AFFECTION FOR THE CAT. I WOULD HOPE THATS NOT HOW IT SHOWS AFFECTION, BUT THAT MIGHT BE THE CASE. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR PUSSEY FARTS

put the cat on the floor. Or, wvery time the cat farts on you, squirt it with a water bottle. This is how cat trainers discipline cats.
