My friend and I met someone at the night club last night and we both want to go on a date with them, would it be weird to have it be a double date? They don't know each other, but it would be safer (as my mother put it) if we did. We are 18, my guy is 21 and hers is 25.

As much as you probably don't want to hear this, but your mother is right... it IS safer to go on the double date with your friend. Not only is it safer, but what if the two guys turn out to be completely not what you had expected, then you and your friend can bail.
It could also be helpful to get to know them better as a team... maybe you'll have a question for your friends guy to help her get to know him better... plus make sure he is a good guy for her... and vise versa.
All in all, a double date is a great idea for the first date!

Your mom is right and I think you should do the double date thing more than once until you get to really know these guys to be safe. My first dates were double dates and I think it's safer that way.

Of course, it's ok to double date. It would help with the conversation if there's nothing to talk about or just to have someone else to talk to. If it works out with the guy, then you can go on a regular date with him. But a double date helps make the date not so awkward.

i dont think it would be wierd... and i think your mom is right... it is much safer... plus you just met them so its not like a real relationship date its just a get together kind of a date i guess! if i were you just go with it... it cant hurt... if you didnt like the date now you know never to meet someone and go for a double date again! lol hope this helps!

No double dates are common. They provide the ladies and guys a safety net in the event the conversation stops, plus the force you to keep things light. The key is to have fun.

Sometimes double dates are more fun. But why would you want to if you don't know these people. Maybe meet them out for dinner a couple times or play tennes first till you get to know who they are and what they are about. There are a lot of weirdos out there.

Your mom is right. You just met these guys, and at a club. You know they didnt' go to a club to meet nice girls to have a relationship with. They went to meet girls that like to party and put out.

MUCH safer that way. The only drawback is if one of you wanted to leave early and the other didn't, so make a pact to leave as soon as the first one wants to.

well your mom is right it is safer...but it will also make it less oquard because there will be more than one other person there to talk to but at the same time u can get to know him so i say go for it!!
