The number of citizenships that a person can hold depends entirely on their circumstances and the citizenship laws of the countries in question. The US has no law against US citizens holding one or more other citizenships. Some other countries do not allow multiple citizenships.

I know someone who has triple citizenship as she has UK and US citizenship derived from her parents (one from US other from UK) and Canadian citizenship acquired as the spouse of a Canadian.
