I had the same problem with my Shi'Tzu, I'd bathe him and within hours he was stinking again. Took him to a groomer who told me to rinse him with white vinegar either before you bathe him or after you've bathed him, rinse him with the white vinegar. Use about 1/4 cup of white vinegar to a full cup of water. This worked! He hasn't stunk anymore. You can even use straight vinegar if he really smells bad. The smell of vinegar dissipates quickly.

I had a sharpei with this problem once. We got her and she was VERY stinky. Have your vet do a skin scraping on her. It wont hurt her! They can look at the skin under a microscope. she may have demodectic mange which is acquired from the mother. (That's what Lexi had.) She might need to be treated for a couple of weeks with an antibiotic. The test and meds might cost 100 bucks including the vet visit. But she wont be itchy and stinky anymore! :) Hope this helps some.

Although there is lots of good advice on here one shouldn't forget about allergies either. I've known dogs who were even allergic to water and as a dog shouldn't smell this can be a reaction just as a skin outbreak or something worse. My first thought would have been a change of food as well but since that's been covered, try giving only bottled or distilled water and see if that can help. Also try feeding raw food rather than kibble and see if you are able to have better results.

This is a problem with her sebacous glands. Glands in the skin. Some dogs have over-active glands that produce more natural oils than what is needed. This mixed with dust, dander and outside polutants cause the smell you are talking about. Don't bathe your dog as much. Lots of bathing can cuse the glands to go into over drive. Talk to your vet. There is medication out there to reduce the glands output. If your vet doesn't know about this than go to another vet. You may need to see a doggy dermatoligist. They are out there and they can help

Try feeding her chlorophyll tabs daily,However the flaky skin raises the question of a mite problem like mange then you want to dip her in sheep dip ,available at feed stores or maybe see the vet if you haven't already ,Good Luck

Take her to the vet. Maybe they can suggest a special bath for your pooch. Or maybe your dog is getting into the garbage and you should train her not to do that.

Try using different doggie shampoo. If you use a shampoo for a long time it could dry out their skin and make their fur flaky
