You can find Montreal style bagels in some Ashkenazi shops in NY.
Or you can have them delivered to your doorstep from the original bakery: http://www.stviateurbagel.com/index/page/policy/?/session/9c4ab51aad8daaf9669ac99815a20369
and their nemesis two street corners away:

(ok, no FDA approval so not 'official' shipment to the US but there's a way to go around this see this blog: http://golem.ph.utexas.edu/~distler/blog/archives/000625.html )

answering Daisygirl,...

Montreal bagels are hand shaped, boiled, then baked in a wood-fired oven. They are tougher, more dense, and generally chewier than New York style bagels.

you can get them almost anywhere in Canada, but I don't know where in the US.

I am not sure where to get one. What is the difference between ours and Montreal's, besides it coming or being made in Montreal?
