You can take the tour to the mountains out of South Korea run by Hyundai company , you cannot do this if you carry a USA passport , other than that there is no tours to North Korea. Don't waste your time

Join the USA Air Force and get to see it all for free. Plus get paid to do it. . Really want to go over seas go to China very nice there. They are very friendly there.
