Well, I don't think they do. I think it's better to leave things to nature. What is more important is to educate the humans (so called the intelligent beings) to be less selfish - take what you need, and not more than you can eat. This will balance the ecology in the world.

I give an example from personal experience. There was a python behind the campus canteen. Someone called the zoo, and they got rid of it. After that, the canteen became infested with rats. The python acted as a natural rodent control without harming anyone.

Considering no one has been able to prove whales, or any other species besides homo sapiens are sentient, I'm sure the whale have no idea what green peace is or what the hell they're doing for them. THEY'RE WHALES FOR CHRIST'S SAKE! They eat swim and mate, that's it.
