well, call him and tell him you need an answer by a certain date like a few days or week or something if he don't want to or don't respond ask someone else. Always have a back who ever u chose especially if u dont want to walk alone or ask someone at wedding. but, tell him how important it would be for you and u will need to know b4 so u can make arrangements. he should have already said yes or no. that way you can give advance warning to someone else to ask.

No it wont be a disaster. My best friend just renewed her vows and we didnt ahve chaperrones...the nest man waited up front with teh groom and the MOH and myself walked solo down teh aisle. It turned out just fine!

Tell your grandmother that your fellow isn't sure he can do it, so that she can ask someone else. She will probably be happy to be able to confer the honor on someone she knows and cares about. (Believe it or not, the idea of having "a date" at a wedding is a very recent innovation.)

Not a problem, you just be there for your grandmother.Maybe your guy friend needs some better directions on what to wear, transportation, etc. Also, inform him the [bride] probably has plenty of dishes,so a present is not required, only his presence!!

Mebbe he doesn't wanna go cos he feels outta place or shy ard ur family, and doesn't know how to tell u w/o hurting ur feelings. It's really not a big deal.
(PS: At first i thot u meant he can't "come"..... hmmm..... now DAT's quite a problem!)

Grab someone you know and recognize and ask them to escort you. If not do it alone no biggie you will be accompanied by family anyway.
