Yes! This is called sleep paralysis. Read up on it here...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis
It's very much a medical situation and more common than you'd think! I've dealt with it (hand in hand with sleep hallucinations) since I was a kid. It's just part of who I am now. You get used to it, or I did anyway. GL!

Yes thats happened to me. The one I can remember I was in a room full of tarantulas and snakes of which i'm terrified of both. But I couldnt move at all, as if I was tied down or being held down, and it felt so real, I just wanted to get out of there, I wanted to wake up. Its weird. But I dont have those kind of dreams often, thankfully.

Yeah, I think alot of people have dreams like that. I wake up and once I realize that I'm okay it feels so weird to remember parts of the dream. It's scarey to think of it happening to you and during the dream it's like there's nothing you can do about it. Usually when I have so much on my mind, I have those kinds of dreams.

Not weird at all. It happens when you have a lot of issues on your mind or when you are going through a period of stress. It hasn't happened to me in years though. One time, I couldn't move for almost all day. I just lay there. There was no pain, no feelings, nothing. I thought I was dead.

If you mean you can't more or breathe and it feels like there is something heavy on your chest, it is called sleep paralysis. I think ususally people experience it as they are trying to wake up. It is the origin for the belief in the incubus, where people thought it was something sitting on their chests.

Iv have similar dreams, not quite like that, i think what your talking about is sleep paralisis.
Sometimes, when i dream, i have dreams where im trying to run, but it feels like im running in water, like its hard for my legs to move. And i have some where, i cant see, in my dream, like i have major tunnel vision, and i just cant see in my dreams, that is weird. I wonder what that is.

I've had similar experiences...
I've had dream free-falling and then I'd wake up with vertigo!
That must be very scary for you.
