Does anyone remember the part where god tells Abram or abraham(be sure to correct me if im wrong because i dont remeber the name) that he should cut the neck off of his son to prove his allegiance of god. I just wanted to know what everybody thought of that. If god asked you to kill your children will you do it? it is kind of scary if my parents agreed to this. Well i was just looking on your religious opinion about that.

but if god told you to do it (no matter if it was just a test or not) would you do it?

Yeah but how do we know what was going on in Abram's head in those decisive moments. He mustve gone crazy knowing that that was the way god wanted it to be.

I hope you know that he didn't kill him. it was to test Abrahams faith (you can read about it in Genesis 22).
I don't think that God intended to let Isaac (Abraham's son) be sacrificed (guessing on my part though), but it might have helped understand Jesus' Crucifixion. God knew he had to give His Only Begotten Son, from the very beginning, even before Adam and Eve came to earth, it was His plan.
Adam fell so man might be. not, man is because Adam fell.

You don't have to worry. God isn't going to ask your parents, or anyone else's parents, to kill their kids.
The story about Abraham and Isaac (Genesis 22:1-18) was included in the Bible to illustrate a point. That those who are willing to follow God, no matter what the cost, will be blessed.
God used this trail of Abraham to test his love and devotion to God. God never had any intention of letting Abraham actually kill Isaac and, the point is that Abraham knew this and that even if Isaac died God had the power to raise him from the dead.
Abraham knew this because God had promised Abraham that his wife Sarah would bare him a son, that he would call him Isaac, and this son would "be the father of twelve princes (sons). He would have many descendants and God would have an everlasting covenant with them (this is the founding of the Jewish nation and/or people).
Since Abraham knew that God can not lie then he knew, of course, that God would never let anything happen to Isaac.
If you want, why don't you get a Bible and start reading it, especially the New Testament. This would help you get some background in what the Bible really says so that you aren't so frightened when you hear these misinterpretations about what the Bible says.

What God was looking for in this case was to see the level of devotion of Abraham towards God (He was Abraham by then instead of Abram). This is also the ONLY time God has ever asked this of a person. God wanted to make sure that Abraham truly loved God more than Isaac because He knew this was what Abraham valued most. I doubt that God would ask this of anyone at this point. And if I heard God asking me this, you better believe I would seriously question who this command came from!!!

Genesis, Chapter 22.
God tested Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his son. There was nothing said about cutting his neck off.
According to the story, it was just a test of Abraham's willingness to trust God. Then God provided an animal to sacrifice.
Those days of bloody sacrifices are over, so nobody will be asked to kill their children.
Abraham was originally named Abram (Exalted Father). God changed his name to Abraham (Father of Nations).

God was testing Abraham's faith and Abraham knew that God can do all things so he was willing to I don't believe God would really allow someone to kill their own child remeber God knows all things and Abraham didn't have to go through with the sacrifice because God stopped him and provided a ram in the bush as a result God blessed Abraham because Abraham trusted God and that is what God wants from us our trust in Him

Actually God never asked Abraham to cut the neck off of his son. God did ask Abraham to sacrifice his son on an alter, but that was meant as a test of faith, God never intended for Abraham to actually kill his son.

Yes, it is in Genesis. And Abraham knew 100% it was God speaking to him, so he also knew that God could resurrect Isaac if it was carried out. Good thing God stopped him, then they sacrificed a lamb.
You realize that this was a test, and it pictured God sacrificing his only-begotten son for us. Abraham received a blessing, in the Abrahamic Covenant/Promise, and was called God's friend. The point is trusting God totally and total obedience.
Jesus humbled himself as far as death on a torture stake. Obedience to God proves true love. We should not expect God to make a request like this today, sacrificing children. God was very upset when the Israelites burned their children to Baal.
However, Christians can expect persecution and death from their enemies, Jesus said.

God challenged Abraham to do that. to see if Abraham would choose his child over following God. but God never had any intention of Abraham actually going through with it. it was more of a hypothetical challenge.
when Abraham took Isaac to the site of the altar, God provided a lost ram to be sacrificed instead.
this can be seen as foreshadowing the crucifixion of Christ. God had to choose between us and His Son, and ultimately, He chose His son. He provided a replacement sacrifice so you will never be made to make that decision.

God watched His Son die on the cross. Jesus took all the sin of the world upon Him and paid the ultimate price. God turned His back on Jesus...we know this because while Jesus was dying He asked His father "why hast thou forsaken me?" That shows us how much God loves us. "For God so loved the world that he GAVE his ONLY begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

In my belief, God tested the faithfulness of Abraham to offer or to sacrifice his son and God has proven it. It is not scary to anybody who has a 100 % believe in God. Let us say"if you let your soul to follow what's your preacher teaching and trust your pastor that he wll guide you to eternal life then why we doubted the Word of God...as Paul says" to live is Christ and to die is gain" but nowadays there is no audible voice of God except the Bible so don't listen to whisper of bad spirit. Read the bible.
