Someone who leads a good life but denies God or a killer who repents for his sins a month before his death?

To everyone who said the good person will go to hell and the killer to heaven you are all sick. What kind of warped mind thinks a good person who does not believe in god is worse than a cold blooded killer. It is sad how hard you must stick to your beliefs that have been again and again proven false. The bible is a load of bull$hit and you people are no better than nazis.

Dear j-n-f,
I like your Q.
I've always though this Q puts things in perspective.
But, the believers continue to wiggle out with their answers.
They will always believe
that if you "buy into the big imagination" before you die -
WHY BROTHER AND SISTER - U IS SAVED !
That's all there is to it. Apparently, it's as simple as that.
It's never to late, so they keep on trying and trying and trying to save us - even if they kill us by trying. Go figure!

Jesus does say that God is much happier about the sinner who repents that the lifelong good believer (see the parable of the Prodigal Son in Luke). So under Christian theology, the sinner who repents is definitely going to heaven. As for the good person who denies God, I'm not sure what his or her fate would be. That person definitely stands a better CHANCE of going to hell, since the other person is definitely going to heaven. But whereas most Christians would tell you that the Bible unequivocably tells us that non-Christians go to hell, I call that doctrine into question. Most of the "non-believers are condemned" language is in the Gospel of John, which is VERY questionable in terms of its accuracy. John (which is definitely NOT written by the Apostle John) was written after all the other gospels, anywhere from 60-90 years after Jesus died. John paints a totally different picture of Jesus' ministry that the other three, who all basically agree on Jesus' personality and core teachings. Personally, I think John was written by a radical in the early church with a vivid imagination who really didn't know much about the real Jesus except for a few historical events (the crucifixion, the feeding of the five thousand, etc.). So, I don't put so much stock in the condeming words of John.

To directly answer your question based on the reliably-attributed teachings of Jesus, the repenting sinner is going to heaven, and the good non-believer could go either way. He probably goes to hell if he directly denies God.

This is a very good question. The Bible says that when we die we will all stand before God and give an account of every thought word and deed. the Ten Commandments will be his standard, this will show us who isn't going to heaven. Heres a few commandments for you. Have you ever lied? have you ever stolen something? Jesus said "you have heard it said of old you shall not commit adultery, but I tell you the man who looks at a woman to lust after her has commited adulturey with her already in his heart." have you ever looked at a person with lust? Jesus also said "you have heard it said do not murder, but I tell you that the man who hates his Brother is a murderer." have you ever hated someone? How do you do when Judged against God's Ten Commandments? if you have said yes to these questions, by your own admission your a Lying theif and and adulturer and murderer at heart. The BIble says "all liars will have there part in the lake of fire". The BIble also says that no theif or fornicator orMurdere will enherit the Kingdom of God. what will you do on Judgement day if your guilty? the BIble says that If God gives you Justice according to your sins you could end up in Hell. can we even begine to imagine how Long an eternity will be? imagine how terrible it would be to be permanently seperated form God and tortured forever. The Good news is that Jesus christ came and suffered and died on the cross to take the punishment for our sin. we broke the Law, and Jesus paid our fine. anyone who will repent (turn from sin) and put there full faith in Jesus wil be saved and granted eternal life. have you repented and put your trust in Jesus for you eternal salvation? If not, Please dont wait, there is absolutly nothing more important than your eternal salvation.

The idea of hell is just nonsense plane and simple.

God is our dearest friend, She is the first one there to support us when we stumble and He would be the last one to ever judge us.

The idea is so absurd as to be laughable if so many had not been indoctrinated into this web of lies about our loving Father/ Mother at such an early age.

If these silly ideas of hell seem real to you, think about it. Pray and Ask God for help in understanding the truth. Quiet your mind and listen for the small still loving voice of God. She will not fail to tell you the truth about her love for you. Sadly the lies you have been indoctrinated with about God will try to override Gods truth when you hear it.

Have perfect faith that Gods unconditional love for you is real. This is the truest kind of faith. Following a set of commandments so you don’t anger a judgmental small g god is the epitome of faithlessness.

You need to read the Bible. The truth about Hell is not that you are going to "burn" in Hell for all eternity but that if you ultimately reject God's plan for you in his kingdom (even after you die) you will be tossed into "Hell" where the fire will consume you and then you will die what is called the "second death" and you will exist no more and will be eternally seperated from God. That is the truth of Hell. The idea that you burn in Hell for all eternity came from Dante's Inferno from the middle ages and that concept of Hell has stayed in our conscienceness. The only beings that will recieve an everlasting punishment and will never be allowed to die are Satan and his angels. God allowing someone to burn in Hell for all eternity is against the very nature of God himself.

The person who leads a good life but denies God. Clearly you would know this by the Bible's report of Jesus' crucifixion and his telling the man next to him who was asking forgiveness and asked Jesus not to forget him, and Jesus replied, "This day you will be in the Kingdom of Heaven".

It's all about accepting sweet Jesus, so obviously the killer goes to heaven while the good, moral, upstanding, compassionate atheist goes to hell. I'm sure the people the killer murdered will be delighted to share their heavenly mansions with him.
