Oh, you naughty Catholics!

"You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth." Exodus 20:1-17

No, "other than God" is not there, not in that Commandment anyhow.

the Goddess Angel: A lot of them stare at it while they do pray, whether that means they worship it or not, "you shall NOT make an idol" period is the key here.

And I am a pluralist, mostly Buddhist I suppose.

And LookingOut: you better look-up the definition of IDOL dumb*ss, reminder or not, it's a figure or representation.

I don't know why they think they can have statues, that is a graven image.

Sin is just nonsense plane and simple.

God is our dearest friend, She is the first one there to support us when we stumble and He would be the last one to ever judge us.

The idea is so absurd as to be laughable if so many had not been indoctrinated into this web of lies about our loving Father/ Mother at such an early age.

If these silly ideas of sin seem real to you, think about it. Pray and Ask God for help in understanding the truth. Quiet your mind and listen for the small still loving voice of God. She will not fail to tell you the truth about her love for you. Sadly the lies you have been indoctrinated with about God will try to override Gods truth when you hear it.

Have perfect faith that Gods unconditional love for you is real. This is the truest kind of faith. Following a set of commandments so you don’t anger a judgmental small g god is the epitome of faithlessness.

How I might ask??? I have no graven images. The Cross only reminds me of the price paid for my crimes that someone else paid on my behalf. No sin.

See if you are looking to point a finger at something you have only pointed at the place where I was bought with a price, a price I could not pay on my own, nor could I ever hope to.

You have reminded me of where my hope is, and own who's shoulders it was carried. No sin, but thank you for the reminder, may I never forget.

I don't know what it is going to take for people to realize that and idol, something you worship, and a Crucifix you wear around your neck have nothing in common.
Catholics remember that Christ died on a cross for the remission of sin, hence the Crucifix.
Others wear a cross that is barren in remembrance of HIS death and Resurrection
Same Jesus, two different methods of remembering.
just to keep the record straight I'm an Evangelical Preacher.

This is strange. Unless you think Catholics worship and idolize the Crucifix.

The crucifix isn't an idol. It is a reminder of our saviour. It proclaims his glory. It is not a sin to wear one.

They worship Satan anyways. Christ was a lunatic. There is no god. Add it up. We can't prove he exists, we can't prove he doesn't. 1+-1= No God.
