Instant= 1 minute (used to be called "minute oats")

Quick= 5 minutes

You can microwave quick oatmeal, using one half cup oatmeal, a bit of salt, and a cup of water, and microwave on high for 2 and 1/2 minutes. It's much better than instant.

Instant is faster - you just add boiling water or put it in the microwave. Quick has to cook for five minutes. Quick tastes MUCH better.

Instant is faster, since instant is immediately, while 'quick' is only faster than slow.

quick oats still have to be cooked...instant only needs boiling water added to it.
