When I came to N.Y a fiend of mine took me to this night school.
when it was only ten days of classes left due to the vacations time.
And I met this beutiful greek 16 years old girl.
I was 18.
since the first night of classes we met,we like each other very much. but none of us spoke English.
it was very hard to ask her to be my girlfriend.
after they close the school. I try to call her but we coul'n't understand each other.
so we desire to meet again in school time.,but my job didn't let me go back to that school.
some times you could loose beautiful moments because of bein in a country where new immigrants who can't speak English

Why did the inability to speak English interfere here? You could have met her in Greece while traveling; you could have met her in your own country while she was traveling. Neither of you spoke the other's language in any case. There are many ways to communicate strong feelings other than through language; there are gestures, body language, pointing out examples. You simply let a beautiful moment slip through your fingers because you were hung up about needing to speak English. I think it is wonderful when newcomers to America learn English, but it is not necessarily the language of love.

If you both study English, you will be able to communicate.
This is an example of why all immigrants should learn English if they are going to be in this country.

I sorta believe in predestination but I can tell you this. Decisions that have been made for me always turn out for the best. Decisions I've made usually don't turn out very well.

I TOO HAVE THAT PROBLEM SOME... I AM NOT IN LOVE BUT I REALLY LIKE THIS GUY FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY BUT WHEN HE CALLED I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND HIS LANGUAGE... SO WE STAYED IN TOUCH THRU EMAIL. WE ARE GOOD FRIENDS
