Spend as much time as possible as there is no such thing as too much time spent with your family.
My grandma was living with mom and dad so they could take care of her. She passed away Dec.8,2004, less than 30 days later, my brother passed away Jan.2,2005 unexpectedly. At his funeral, mom had a stroke before the services started and then had another one coming out. She was in the hospital for about a month or so and when she got home, dad had one.
I know my parents are getting up there in years, so I thought about what I was going to do. I decided to move back home to be with them. I gave up a good paying job of 5 years and my house and moved back home to be with them. I live in a 32' travel trailer right beside their house so as I can be right here to take care of them, as they are ALL I have left. Well I say they are all I have left, I have my son and my daughter. But I want to spend all my time with them now while they are still with me. My daughter does come here a lot to see us. Dad is 83 and mom is 72. I know in my heart I am doing the right thing. Things are not always smooth sailing, but when one of them gets upset about something, I blow it off, because how do I know if before I could say I am sorry I lost them. I could not live with myself if that happened. Each day now with them is a blessing to me that I still have them both.
As having time for myself, well the way I look at it, they are what is important right now. I will have time for myself when they are gone.

spend what ever quality time available, too much can overdose anyone. when you leave, leave as if this would be the last time you might see them, then there will be no regrets if the worst does come about.

I have to agree with both Brandi and Jenni.
Cherish every minute you get with them.
If you are young, you will regret NOT doing it when you are older.
If you are older, you probably already regret it.
Family is forever. No one else is.
