There are many different theories on this subject, I am seriously interested in hearing from people who have really thought about this and have serious answers.

Yes. I believe that in the after life there is no "time". So when we pass we see all those who passed on before us even those who passed years earlier but to them it feels like they just saw you. Then they get together and laugh about how people who live in "time" don't appreciate the important things in life like the sound of a child's laugh, the sunset (or sunrise), the relationships with those we love as well as our relationship with strangers. They laugh about how they work themselves to the point of death to get "things" that they cannot take with them and they neglect to work on their relationships which they will have forever in the hereafter.

My thoughts..My mom passed away 3 years ago (we were very close) I want to belive SO BAD that I will see her again.I have a hard time believing that when you die you go on to a better place.and you are joined with your loved ones who has passed on. HOW do we all know that when you die you go to heaven and greeted by long lost family and friends who have passed on and not just die and fade away...Do our family members look over us? I have a hard time with this subject because I want to believe that my mom is up in heaven looking over me...How do I know she is though..It makes me so sad to think I will never EVER see her again...

One belief is that when you get to heaven you will find all the people you ever knew up in heaven and they will recognize you and you them. There have been stories of people who have gone to the afterlife and they saw a light and as they went through the light they heard and saw people they knew calling to them. I don't know what will happen, but I am hoping that when I get there I can hold the babies that I lost.

Well, I am confused over this. The Bible tells us there will be no marriage in heaven. So that sounds like you won't recognize your spouse anyway. Or maybe you recognize them, you just don't think of them like THAT anymore. I'm not sure.
But as for hell, consider the story in the gospels about the mean rich man who died and went to hell. When he saw Lazarus flying safely away into paradise, he recognized him. So I would think the same applies to heaven. And Jesus did tell the thief on the cross, today you will be with me in paradise.
So I think I've talked myself into it. I believe we will recognize each other.

Based strictly on the Bible, I'd say the answer to this question is Yes.

When three of Jesus' apostles witnessed His transformation on the Mount of Transfiguration, two Old Testament saints were present (Moses and Elijah). Even though both had been 'dead' for well over 400 years the apostles knew who they were and Peter even suggested that three dwellings be made for them (Jesus, Moses, and Elijah).

Also, in Luke 16 we read that the man being tormented in Hades had knowledge of his brothers who were still alive. And, in Revelation, those who had been killed and were now in the presence of God asked when justice would be served on those still alive on earth.

There are a couple of places that indicate we'll know others in Heaven but these are the ones I remember right off hand.

Mark 9:2-5

Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain apart, by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his clothes became dazzling white, such as no one on earth could bleach them. And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Then Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; let us make three dwellings, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.

Yes, I definitely believe this. I believe that we will be greeted by anyone we have ever loved in this and every other lifetime we have lived, including those who have gone both before and AFTER us. Since we are eternal souls in the spiritual dimension, where time does not exist as we know it here. We will recognize them by the unique quality each soul possesses, not by the illusions of our various physical incarnations.

Oh absolutely! I am excited to know that I will again see my best friend, my father, my brother, what a great time! I'm a christian, thanks to Jesus Christ, without Him I would never have any hope in heaven. You see, I am not going to heaven because of any great thing I have done. On my own I could hardly get across country! I'm going because I believe that He is God's Son and that His death paid for my sin.

Yes I do.
I have thought about it on numerous occasions, along with several instances of suddenly thinking about a long-departed friend of relative for otherwise no apparent reason.

yes, I do believe that I will be known in Heaven as I was on Earth. Therefore, others will know me as I was on earth as well. I'm sure God will work it out somehow.
