Link TV had a special on that. Some people had to keep guns-handy in their Kitchen or Front-room. They were shot at, and a mess of things. . It was horrible some of the stories and many-and for different reasons-they couldn't leave (who would buy there house was one), And the towns surrounding were no help. they were grateful for the minutemen-very grateful. It is hard to imagine that in the States unless we see it. I have a friend who lives near one and she has to look around carefully to go into her yard. If I remember right it was called-Walking the line.
I would think they have a web page "Link TV".
They also had another on the people of Mexico--both were interesting.

Im kind of confused by everyones opinions some sound like they believe that all immergrants are Mexican which are not, I generally agree with the idea that in order to be here it should be done legally however having work for associates of the I.N.S I know that process is not quick or an easy process. Also what you might be an illegal immergrant believe it not I have seen immergrants trying to enter the united states with no criminal records back home and it would take over 7 years plus then several times I have seen some come with a criminal record a mile long and simply cause they have the right amount of money they buy there way in.
You see everybody is right they shouldn't be allowed to stay illegally but what do you expect when attempting to do legally gets you no where. Imagine that you were from a place were the roads are made out of dirt no plumbing service or things that we see as part of our everyday living imagine not having any of those things you will try anything in your power to better life. I cant knock them for wanting to live a better life.
as far as feeling that they are taking all our jobs: When you walk into a Toco bell or Mc Donalds and your chasier speaks poor english that doesn't mean that there are illegal immergrant second stop cryin' about them taking the job simply cause before they meaning "legal or illegal immergrants" took the job it was there an nobody wanted it.

I live in a small rural town in Arizona. With the National Guard in place with more BP Agents the movement of illegals has decreased sharply. Before that, many illegals crossed through ranches, opening their fences. Instead of closing them, they keep it open. Cattle goes out. Then on the other hand, you have on the ranch a water pump. No rancher in the State of Arizona. . .IN FACT, no Arizonan would deny you a glass of water if you asked for one. Yet the Mexican people turn on the water pumps, and don't shut them off. They do their necessities and leave the soiled toilet paper lying about the ranch. Some ranchers are fed up and would shoot them. Others say, ok, here's the deal: But don't f#$k up the place. And the Mexicans leave everything neatly.
Just because you have a difference of opinion doesn't make you a racist. I am in favor of immigration, AS LONG AS IT IS LEGAL and the people who come here are willing to pay the ultimate price for this Nation.

I live in the San Joaquin Valley. This is the main place Mexican immigrants come to make a living. Most immigrants do labor jobs such as farming in extreme conditions. I can tell you many Americans are thanking God that they do not have to do this kind of work. I would say because I was once in the farming industry that majority of the people I came in contact with were honest, hardworking people just trying to raise a family and send money home. With that in mind, I have also worked in corrections and the young drug dealer, gang related north/south stupid stuff really gets me. As far as the mexican man who called you a racist, he was being really defensive Im sure. Mexicans are very prideful, good people. To judge a person based on their ethnicity is totally wrong, every race has their bad apples. Being the conservative that I am, yes the borders need to be tightened up and priveledges as far as assistance needs to be addressed. I do not feel that education or anything related to kids should be withdrawn though but they need to be analyzed and services paid for as a secondary tax for noncitizens. Yes go ahead work in the states but be prepared to pay taxes in the states too. If we were to go in to Mexico, we would be paying thru the nose for a job and Canada might as well forget it, no citizenship, no job.

I live about 100 miles from the border here in Texas. I would say for the most part the illegals that are here are good people. Most really want a fresh start and are willing to be good American citizens. The other half of the illegals are drug dealers, obviously anti-America, selfish rude people that abuse the social systems. I really can't stand it when these rude people demand things like as if we owe them something. I also know that most of these illegals know enough English to get by, but the rude ones just refuse to speak it to non-Spanish speaking people so that they feel they have the upper hand. I have known the fact that some of the illegals are here for self betterment and want to become citizens, but alot of them are here for the free ride and really to tell you the truth hate America. These are the people I feel need to go. So lets keep America beautiful and throw out this trash.

I live in Texas and have met many Mexicans who have come across the border and are here illegally. By and large, they are all really nice people (hardworking and family oriented) and I consider many to be good friends. But on immigration, we disagree. All of the illegals I have met, use illegal i.d.'s & ssn's to work here or they take jobs where they receive cash under the table. Even the ones who receive cash under the table, still use fake i.d.'s to obtain driver's licenses, etc... Most do not pay Federal taxes and if they do, it's again to illegal i.d.'s. Have they contributed here, YES and are they good people YES. My problem with illegal immigration is that the majority of illegals I have met 1. are too afraid or uninterested in persuing a legal status and 2. don't see the need to learn English. My parents are LEGAL immigrants, who came to this country learned English IMMEDIATELY and began working on their citizenship right away. It is not an easy process to become a citizen and frankly it shouldn't be easy. People who immigrate here need to take it seriously and give their allegiance to the country they live in. As far as your comments on racism go, I am ashamed to say I have seen FAR MORE racism on the part of ignorant caucasians than on the part of Mexicans (illegal or not). When are people going to realize that there are a lot bigger issues for us to deal with right now than this. It's just a smokescreen to keep us from seeing what the gov't is really screwing up on. Like the war in Iraq or our energy crisis.

I don't live in a border state but if you don't mind I will answer since they have infested this area too. They are everywhere, they refuse to learn the language and insult America constantly. They fill up the social service offices and get so many things for free. They always have huge families because they don't have the good sense to use birth control. They have really hurt the middle class here, who have a right to work in their own country, for Pete's sake! What's worse is that when the cops pull them over, they NEVER have insurance or a license. They just have no respect whatsoever. I just wish they would leave.

I don't know if I have many details but I'll do what I can because I'm from Texas. Sometimes I feel like I'm SWIMMING in the mexican population. I believe a short time ago there was a law passed in Dallas that made teachers learn fluent spanish if their classes had a significant population of hispanic kids. To me that is rediculous. LEARN ENGLISH!! If they are illegal than thats one thing, but learn the language, man! Anyway, I'm fed up with this immigration debate stuff, I just say keep 'em out! (illegals, that is... If they are legal then I don't care)

A majority of the illegals I come across are hard working and honest people. My biggest problem with them is that the first act (getting here) is illegal. I have first hand knowledge of a couple that had triplets and they were out no money for the medical bills. Also, the wage structure here has come down tremendously, especially in the construction field.
Most of the illegals have no idea why we have so many laws: traffic; civil; and criminal. Of course it depends on whether or not they have arrived from a rural area or from a metropolitan area of their country.

Well, I live in a border state, Arizona, I drive to work down Thomas Rd to get to my destination. On 38th and Thomas there are several(50 plus) illegal immigrants loitering in the Walmart/Home depot parking lot. Well, now I should say there was, there are only a few laborers hanging out down there now. Sheriff Joe's posse had stationed themselves there, and it seemed like Moses when he parted the red sea. They now have to take a chance and solicit for work across the street, but I have seen some get arrested or detained until I guess they prove they are legal immigrants. I can honestly say, I am happy that something is being done now. Thanks to our Sheriff.
