True. When Jesus, God's son and part of the Trinity, was on earth as a human, some loved him and son wanted to, and did, kill him. His disciples loved him; his mother, Mary, loved him; others loved him. Many of the temple leaders then wanted to kill him.
He came back to life and rose again, appearing before his disciples and hundreds of others.
The Bible describes Jesus returning to earth and appearing in the sky to gather the saved, both those who have died and those that are living now. The Bible does not describe Jesus as returning again as a human on earth.

God did come to earth as a man, Jesus. He was worshiped by some and hated and killed by others. There are some that seek good and some that seek evil. Just remember Jesus came with a purpose, he wasn't on vacation. He provided the ability to have a relationship with God and eternal security for those that accept him.

I would treat him with the same kindness and compassion I would any person or creature. Why?
He could be the dog you kicked to the curb or hit with your vehicle and did not stop. He could be woman that jogged right by you. He could be the man that asked for a dollar so he could be warm on the inside with a cup of coffee.
You say 'IF'. He could be any human you meet. Any! From Gates to the homeless man on the street. How would you know? You do not know.
Not knowing should make you treat ALL with kindess and care!

Everything living on Earth has a name. God does not have a name.
Why do people choose to wait to consider how they would treat God? or, worse they wait until the last ten minutes.

If I told you that God is in each and every one of us, then that would get you started on the questions like, how do I treat myself? How do I treat the lady at the checkout? did i smile at her, or did i not return her wishes for me to have a nice day? And, yes, I do believe this to be true, that God is in each of us, and I think we are treating ourselves very badly. LOVE ONE ANOTHER, and know theyself.

Well, Jesus is believed to be God by Christians. Look at how he was treated. As far as God appearing today, I don't know.

He was and we know how people treated him. Just read the NT in the bible and see. I don't think it would much different today than it was those 2000 years ago.
