We had the answer to aids a few months after it was identified.
The answer is to not have unprotected sex.
If everyone did this, AIDs would be virtually gone in a single generation.
We have the answer. Nobody wants to hear it. Instead, we want to keep spending million's of dollars to cure a disease that is easy to prevent.
I guess we are so overcome with our appetites and so undisciplined, that we will continue to spend huge resources lookng for something that will let us act however we want and not incur risk.
AIDs is a very difficult disease but I expect we will eventually have a vaccine or a cure of some kind, then it will be on to the next thing. Maybe we will spend enormous resources on a treatment that will allow us to eat whatever we want whenever we want as much as we want, but not suffer from nutritional problems or obesity. It would be very expensive to develop such a thing but it will be worth it if means we can switch to an all twinkie diet if that is what we crave. Right?

First and foremost, AIDS is caused by a virus. Unlike bacterium caused sicknesses, we have not really known how to fully handle and cure virus caused sicknesses yet. Add that to the fact that the AIDS virus targets the human immune system so it makes it harder to deal with. Because aside from trying to cure virus part, you'd also need to cure any sickness that a person with AIDS will most likely get due to his/her weakened immune system.
As I say, an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. This is where the practice of safe sex should come along. :)

Look at how many years people died from small pox, TB, polio, giving birth, plagues, premature birth, etc. People are still dying every day from heart attacks and cancer - and they have been around far longer than AIDS. People died from almost anything before antibiotics came along.
It takes a lot of time, money, and good scientists to do the research for each of these diseases. 'Jerry's kids' have made some progress - but a lot of those diseases still don't have cures.
There has been small amounts of progress in AIDS research, but not enough to save the ones we love right now.

As far as I know there is a cure for AIDS. You have to pay so much money for it and its limited because the goverment is using AIDS as a Population Control. There are so many cleaning supplies out there that kill AIDS, they could form it a way that humans could take it but they dont want to.

aids is the response of the HIV (virus), there are no answers to any sickness caused by virus because the existence of virus is not quite well understood, this particles aren't alive, they're just a bounch of oproteins, but still can replicate, so there's no way to attack them, scientist have found some ways to keep the virus controlled, like the flu, herpes, etc.. but haven't find out yet how to get rid of them

Because it keeps mutating to this day. A man in N.Y. City was first detected with HIV and died of full blown AIDS a few months later. It's the only case of it's kind but it was also a new strain.

Upon entering the body HIV seeks out the CD4 T-Cell, gets inside and begins to reproduce. This can happen rapidly. As with many other viruses the HIV virus mutates with its host and HIV has mutated to resist certain medications that are currently available. We have to find a way to stop HIV from getting inside of the T-Cell or stop it from reproducing. That my sound simple but it really is the difficult part.

Because huge amounts of infected people are outside of society or far far away from proper health care, especially prostitutes and drug addicts. No-one can get a proper idea of AIDS' variety since more than half the types are developing in people who don't know or care about having it.

AIDS is just as difficult to understand and cure like the psychological problems of the homosexuals and sexual-deviants. Cure their sexual tendencies, then you cure the problem of AIDS. End of story.
