Well, I am a Christian and I don't think homosexuals are condemned to hell. Suprisingly, I even go to a church that thumps the Bible. I just use my own brain.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral... nor men who practice homosexuality... will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."
The Bible clearly says that the practice of homosexuality is sinful. (See also Romans 1: 18-32) Note that the temptation alone is not the issue, but when you do the things that are against God's word.
Also, the above verses say, "such were some of you." If you are committing the acts of homosexuality, you can repent, you can be "washed", and you can be made clean.
So if you are practicing homosexuality, you will not be condemed to Hell if you will repent, but if you refuse to repent, you will perish. This rule applies to the practice of any sin.
Luke 13: 3, "...except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish"
If you practice any sin, you must decide if you love the sin or God more. The choice is yours.

The most referenced passages that allegedly condemn homosexuality are in Leviticus, which also condemns the eating of shellfish. I have been picketing outside Red Lobster... Biblical scholars, who are, by an large, not literalists, believe that Leviticus condemns rape, not homosexuality. The topic of consensual homosexuality is never directly addressed because it was not an accepted fact of life in biblical times. Clearly, homosexuals are in a much better position with God than the rich, who get the sharp end of the stick throughout the gospels.

When I read the question I had the perfect answer--until I read the rest. Whether you believe in a higher power or not, you are not condemned to hell for being gay. NO MAN ON EARTH HAS THAT POWER!!!!!! Only God passes judgment. And there is no sin that is unforgivable except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Therefore, anyone who says gays are condemned to hell MUST BE WITHOUT SIN!!!! They must be the second coming of Christ------That's blasphemy!
What about people who do not believe in a higher being? Well, what about them?

I believe I think logically as I don't believe in a higer being. Therefore people are not condemned to hell for the simple fact that they like someone of the same gender. #1, there's no such thing as hell, #2 gay, straight, whatever, everyone is an equal in the eyes of humanity.

Well, first of all realize that your question in many ways already shows your views on organized religion and hints of a resentment towards those who believe in such things.
To have faith in something doesn't necessarily mean one does not think logically.
Anyhow, moving on, are homosexuals condemned to hell? Depends on who you ask (which actually, you already know. I think you raised this question more to rant about religions being illogical).
Muslims, Christians, Roman Catholics, etc in general would have a viewpoint dependent on what manner of practicing faith they are. Those who are very close-minded would perhaps accept the "word of the Book" or the "word of their Faith" on such matters and leave it at that. Those more open to possibilities would reconsider whether their Higher Being (God, Allah, etc) would really see things against homosexuality in black and white terms.
I have met born again Christians (who tend to have a more holier than thou attitude sometimes than not) actually be friendly and very corteous to gay people. They might not approve of the lifestyle, but those people in particular knew better than to try to change the other person.
I have also met people who are self-proclaimed aethiests who are very discrimatory towards non-straight people, seeing them as "unnatural" and all that jazz.
So ultimately, it depends on what kind of an individual a person is, regardless of their religious orientation or practice.
Hope that helps.

No. Homosexuals are not condemned to hell just because they are homosexual, no more than a heterosexual male is condemned to hell because he looks at women besides his wife and imagines having sex with them. Some say that it is the homosexual act that is the sin; some say that thinking about and lusting after another person of the same sex is sin.
Regardless, it is the failure to believe that Jesus is God's son, to seek forgiveness for (repent of) sin, and to be baptized that condemns a person to hell. Thankfully, God forgives us of our sins if we follow his will and do these things.
For a homosexual, I believe that repenting of sin means resisting and avoiding homosexual thoughts and acts. Just like for a married man, repenting of sin means resisting and avoiding both lustful thoughts about women other than his wife and adulterous acts. If one can avoid these things their entire life, it is a wonderful thing and they are blessed. If one does the best one can, but can't avoid these things on occassion, then being a Christian and being forgiven means one can ask God to forgive these sins and God does so.

Of course you will NOT!!! Why beat yourself up over something you didn't choose? Do you think you'd go to hell if you had red hair (even though it wasn't your fault?) or if you were born with only one leg? No! We are made the way we are for a reason. You will make some man very happy and lucky one day. (If not already). Don't become a gay basher yourself!!! Fight for your rights and your life!!! ~~~~ Ok, I also didn't read this well enough... the above would be my answer to the first person who responded to you - who said he "wrestles with this every day". But now I see you were just trying to find the morons out there.

being homosexual is a sexual sin and many christians have sinned sexually whther it be day dreaming about being with their "fanatsy mate" (while married or not) or the act of fornication. some christians may struggle with lying,or being a clepto..what matter to God the most is the condition of your heart, any sin that you do not repent of or are continually trying to move away from to get closer to God will condemn you to hell. but if you just happen to be struggling with homosexuality ..its really between you and God...not really for us christian brothers and sisters to judge you! we don't know when or where your deliverece will come. Just know that there are christians praying for you to be delivered so we can see you in heaven..just like we pray for other people struggling in this hard christian race

I believe in a higher being and I still do not believe you are condemned if you are homosexual. I believe that higher being put us here to be happy whichever way. Just do no harm to others.
