Left is left, right is right, bilateral means both left and right. So "bilateral left" does not make sense. It is either unilateral (left OR right) or bilateral (both left AND right).

The term bilateral indicates that the hernia repair is to both sides; left and right. So a bilateral left would be the repair to the left side and the bilateral right would be to the right side. Iguinal hernias are not uncommon to both sides of the abdominal cavity so the answer to your question woudl be: Yes, you can have a bilateral left inguinal hernia reapir.

but like the other answers say that means both sides right and left
