Best one around is Urine Gone that is carried in Target., some Walgreen's carry it also. It's packaged with a black light that shows where the urine might not be visible but the smell is. Also online there is O (called Zero) Odor which is advertised as such. Both are the best. My friend had a eldery cat that had bladder problems, I got her these to try and she said she that both worked well, no more odors!

The problem with vinegar is that it also stinks...I just removed a 1 yr. old urine stain that still smelled with Oxi Clean. The commercials were right, it does work on everything!!! Not only did it get the color and smell out, but it didn't leave it's own odor behind.

There is an enzymatic cleaner available at pet stores called "Nature's Miracle" It works better that anything I've ever used.
Just spray it on the area where the pet has urinated after you blot as much urine up with a paper towel as possible. Try it. I know that Petsmart carries it.

Hate it when they do that.. haha Either vinegar and water or perhaps baking soda? You might also try giving your carpets a good cleaning with a Rug Doctor (which you can rent at most grocery stores) or another type of steam cleaner.
