Sure, very possible. I tought that this could have been a very real opportunity for the military to test one of the new airborn chemical laser weapons. Flying from bases in Japan, they could easily cover the area. If we make a secret attempt and fail, there is no projectile to explain, only energy beamed into space. Small risk, great reward. Both political and as a real live test on an actual enemy launch. Funny how only the long range missle that we were concerned about was the only one to fail. The only proof would come from recovery of debris to determine why it failed and that's not too likely.

No, from what I've heard the missile exploded 23 seconds or so into flight. They have lobbed missiles over Japan before, however, and have SCUD missiles right now. Their long-range missile technology just isn't there yet. The U.S. is working on shooting missiles out of the sky, but lack the technology right now. If they ever did shoot a nuclear missile at the U.S. or Japan, they could be turned into a parking lot. I hope that never happens, because even though the genie is out of the bottle, if countries start to use them, WW III would quickly escalate.

I don't think the U.S. took the missile out. Could they - Yes. Would they - No. The White house is going to make it look so good on paper that we were try diplomacy first that they would not take out the missile until the first one strikes a target, like Pearl Harbor - or - The Sears Tower"

No they didn't have to, it failed on it's own.
But I am so interested to know, if it had, would People be bitching if Bush retaliated. Maybe it doesn't matter to some, unless it concerns them.
The facts are, that in the past, Countries have pushed, and the U.S. has pushed back, that is why Our Country is safe today.
Anybody remember a little incident called Pearl Harbor.
How about Auschwitz?
Some People still doubt that Hitler committed genocide.

The only successful tests of the Stars Wars defense system involved putting a tracking device on the target missile so the anti-missile could zero in on it. If you believe we have a working anti-ballistic missile system up and running, I have a huge white marble mansion in heaven for sale that will only cost you 10% of your income for the rest of your life

Yes Hawaii was targeted & we were on alert to blow it up before it got too close. It became unneccessary when the missile malfunctioned 42 seconds after takeoff.
The US has successfully tested their ability to shoot down missiles less than 10 days ago, so we are as safe as ever.

I think it's possible, not with star war tech though. I don't think they knocked out the ones that they tried a few days ago. They were too far away from the mainland of the US.

No. North Korea would know, they're high tec too. Anyway, they said they would threaten any one that stopped their missiles. Interesting idea though.
