why do poeple hate their parents?

i ask this because rite now im goin to this thing about not talkin to my mother ever again me and my mom had a close bond but then she did somethang that i cant reallly explain rite now it doent have to do anything about cheating or anything but something else i hate my mother for what she did since than over and over again i say i hate her but i dont know if i mean it or not i know its not rite to hate ur mother but sometimes is wish that she wasn't my mother and again i dont know if i mean it i like my mother but i dont love her as much everyone else love their mother

Life is too short hon. I lost my father to cancer when I was 17 y/o and I never got to say goodbye. Please forgive your mom for whatever and tell her that you love her, because you don't know what tomorrow will hold.

people sometimes hate their parents because they don't live up to their expectations. you expect your mother to act a certain way and when she doesn't it's like "what the hell?".

my parents tend to be a little selfish, it's all about them. always was. I'm 41. I stopped talking to my mother 4 years ago. I will probably never speak to her again. she did something to my wife i find i can't forgive her for. and when my dad moves to florida next year i'll probably never see him again.

give yourself some time to get over whatever happened. put it in perspective. it may not be as bad as you think. it's just not something you expected. good luck and i hope everything works out between the two of you.

psychologically speaking, its natural for children to dislike/hate their same sex parent (daughters hating mothers, sons hating dads), and have a stronger bond with their opposite sex parent (daughters with dads, sons with mothers) . the whole thing is rather freudian, and also can be seen with greek mythology, such as the oedipal complex (boy version) and elektra complex (girl version). But these natural dispositions can be changed (enhanced or lessened) depending on experiences or events that happen between the 2 people involved

ok well darlin Relax and take a deep breath. Everyone goes through the I hate my parents stage.

The best thing to do is to STOP saying that you hate her. It just hurts feelings. (yours and hers).

Try sitting down and writing out how what she did made you feel and why it made you feel that way.

Then go and CALMLY explain to your Mom that when she did this action that it made you feel.....unloved, rejected, sad....what ever it made you feel.....

Tell her that you don't hate her but you want that close bond back that you used to have and that you are missing that part of the relationship.

Then you need to forgive her and ask her to forgive you for hurting her feelings as well

Don't you just hate emotions? If humans have no emotions wat-so-ever, won't it be great? Yet, we have emotions and feelings like this to make us feel alive. it's called life. I don't care for my parents either, they can never understand how I feel and such (sry I'm not getting into my private life, way too complicated) I guess, we just have to suck it up, and move on when we can. yah know? can't let them get the best of you.

Don't hold a grudge against your mother, it can't be that bad and life is too short, what if something happens to her, god forbid nothing does, knowing your were mad at her over something dumb would really hurt.
