Whenever christians make an attempt to spread the word of God there always seem to be a group of people who accuse us of passing judgement or condemning them. Frankly I think it is a bunch of crap. When gays and lesbians speak their minds, nothing is said. When obscene sex questions or gestures are made the overwhelming majority seem to climb on board and have fun with the topic. However, when we state our opinions, there is always someone out there accusing us of trying to pass off our individual beliefs. In order to pass of our individual beliefs we would have to state our individual religious denominations, which is never the case. God is universal and His word is Truth. Whether you want to accept it or not. As christians it is our job to spread the gospel in order to make the world a better place. If this happens to offend some of you then so be it. Spreading the gospel is like giving medicine to a child. They may not want to take it but when they do it makes everything all better.

Isn't that what your doing. You just condemned gays, lesbians an imposed your moral beliefs on others. Most people accept Gods word as truth. Where did you get the idea you were ready to spread His Word when you don't seem to be representing it here. The problem with so call Christians is you are not speaking His words but the words of man.If you believe it is your "job" honey you need to do some independent research and training before you turn more people away as you have with your attitude today.

So you think it's "a bunch of crap" when people say that Christians are judging and condemning them?

Take a look at some of the answers to your own question:

“the devil influences them to accuse us just to get us down “

“they can't face the christians since they have so may wrong doings in thier life”

“I believe that we are presecuted as Christians because it is part of the Devil's plan to derail us from following God's plan. “

“The word of God is offensive to those in sin.. “

“inside they know it is wrong, but rather than admit their sin, they run and hide because they don't want to hear it.”

“Most people are in denial and would do anything to air their views on Christainity, they are just trying to hide away from the truth and most of them are hypocrites and speak blasphemy just to be cool”

Heaven forbid that anyone call Christians judgemental or condemning after perusing this small sample.

And even your own little rant says it best:

"God is universal and His word is Truth. Whether you want to accept it or not"

Gee, that doesn't sound like forcing your beliefs on anyone at all, does it?

And the thing is that when you ask non-Christians why they object to the way Christians talk to them, and they answer you honestly (albeit with varying degrees of politeness) instead of taking their answers and thinking "hmmm...maybe I should look at how I talk to people" you instead accuse them of being "misguided", "in sin" or being full of "hate".

Why bother asking the question when you and your fellow Christians will never accept any answer?

I think you may have hit the nail on its head when you stated that "spreading the gospel is like giving medicine to a child..." THAT's the rub right there, see?

First of all, WHY treat non-Christians or non-believers 'like a child'?? They ARE NOT CHILDREN after all... And, even worse, they are NOT YOUR CHILDREN, regardless if they were infantile in their actions or silly in their ways in fact. Know what I mean?

I certainly can understand the zeal and sincere effort exerted by well-meaning Christians in 'spreading the Good Word' and I don't have too many qualms about that aspect, since I too am a believer.

But let's face it, and own up to admitting that there are indeed THOSE among Christendom who "OVER EXERT" in their zealotry and righteousness, done especially to others who are NOT WILLING listeners, or have simply been turned off by bad experiences in the past...

To me, I think the better approach in spreading the Good Word would be to WAIT UNTIL one is MADE WELCOME to enter into someone else's "spiritual space" or abode as it were.

Think of it in terms of the seventy disciples that were sent out by Jesus who were specifically instructed and tasked to knock on the first door of the village that they would arrived at after a day's walk. And that if they were made welcome inside their house to rest and eat, then the disciples were instructed to share the teachings of Jesus to everyone in the household. BUT, if they were somehow NOT MADE WELCOME by the resident then they were instructed to turn around, shake the dust off their feet, and to proceed to the next village --without stopping to find another house in the same village!

Something like that. So, don't let such comments bother you that much either... Instead, try to understand and listen to what the others do say about their 'bad' experiences with certain over-zealous proselytizers... and not necessarily take that comment personally, unless you've been guilty of the same.

Peace be with you!

I think more often than not Christians do end up coming off too bold and way to judgemental. Trust me I used to be that way and THANK JESUS I saw the light. How can you bring someone to God if you condemn them??? JESUS never judged, nor comdemned, so why must we. Another reason is, that Christians that have condemned and judged and been on TV have caused a bad rapp for the Christians that are not that way, and that makes us look bad. I don't go to church anymore because of this and don't say I am a Christian. I have a personal relationship with God and that's mine. I don't judge anyone. I have MANY gay friends...and I live my life in my way. In the end We each individually will have to pay for our sins. So why go bashing others for this, when we aren't going to pay for their sins??

The bottom line is that other Christians have made a bad rapp for people who aren't fire and brimstone and judgemental.

God's Word is TRUTH for those you wish to believe. To a Budist - his teachings are TRUTH. Everyone has a RIGHT to believe what they want to. I am thankful I am not PERSECUTED and YELLED at for what I believe. QUIT doing it to other people - I say to those STUBBORN HEADED CHRISTIANS...JUST SHUT UP!!!!

Christianity, being the "word of christ" is ver damnating and judging, since it doesnt matter if you are good and moral and an excellent person all around, if you dont belive in christ then you are damned

by 'spreading the word' you are actually sparating people in two groups: those saved and those unsaved, which is quite harmful and the source of many pains of humanity

and i was raised a christian, that thing is not medicine, its a drug, you have to get free of in order to see things clearly, so when somene comes offering me for a damaging drug, i say NO

Some Christians are a little harsh when it comes to spreading the work of God. They us the shock factor and say that these people are going to Hell and that has become the stereotype most people view Christians as. The best way is to subtlely bring out the topic of Christ and occasionally remind people that there is a God out there and to have the people explore it for themselves with Christians giving some guidance. Sooner or later they will realize that there is a God. Hopefully sooner.

People also don't like to hear things bad about them even if it is true such as going to Hell. We are not judging people, God is, we are just His messengers.

I don't accuse Christians of condemning me.. There is nothing wrong with speaking your mind about Christianity, go ahead, do as you please.. It just usually gets messy when Christians can't accept that you don't want to have the same beliefs as them. To you guys spreading the gospel might be something good, but there are other people with other beliefs out there.. or people who just don't want to commit to Christianity and some Christians have got to respect that..

you know, you had me going there till the end. you *believe* that it is your job to spread the gospel. you *believe* that God is universal and his word is truth. your *beliefs* do not equate to facts.
it is not your place to give me medicine. I have free will. if I ask your opinion and ask for your spiritual guidance, that is one thing. however, making the assumption that your beliefs are somehow more factual than any other spritual ideas and force-feeding your narrow-minded virtues is phenominally egotistical.
you can't possibly honestly think that bible-thumping makes everything better. Look at all of the wars that are a cause of religion.
live and let live, my friend. all paths lead to God/Goddess.

Christianity is the biggest crock out there.. You take out bits and pieces of the bible and follow what you want.
God is a figment of your imagination.. and dont say he is not! Have you seen him? no you have not so you can not with 100% truth say he exists!
Tell me how believing in god will make my life better because im dying to know!
Christians judge more people then any other religion out there.. Judging homosexuality, saying its wrong and dirty. Well God said DONT JUDGE and your judging me.. Jesus said that the 2nd most important commandment is "love thy neighbour as yourself" If Christians follow the bible then WHY do you not open your doors to homosexul people? BECAUSE YOU TAKE WHAT YOU WANT AND FOLLOW THAT FORGETTING ABOUT THE REST.. well guess what... God believes all sins are equal..

It's just that, OK, imagine someone else tells you all about their religion. Let's say wicca. They tell you that the God and Goddess are fact, whether you want to accept it or not. (Not that a wiccan would ever do that) You would probably be offended and start arguing too. Everyone has a right to their freedom of religion. Believe what you will, and let others do the same.

It's not your discussing religion people object to. It's your feeling that your way is the only way.
