Do you think she should give it a try too?

Yes it should be good, keeping in mine that teenagers have an increased need for calcium. If you mean mainly a vegetarian diet, there are guidelines to help you get the basic variety you need for your food, especially protein. This is necessary for all on a vegetarian diet, and such a balance is more difficult to achieve. Over a long time B 12 vitamin can be deficient. So if you can manage all that, yes a 14 year old can enjoy such a diet. The fiber or roughage can be hard on the gut if you're not used to it, so you may need to work up to a full raw diet.

I have thought about the raw diet and a person would get more food value from raw vegetables. There is a lot of places that do recommend that kind of diet. One is Life styles of America near Ardmore Oklahoma and another one is Wemier Institute. They have helped a lot of people get over being dependent on insulin and several other medical problems. I would suggest that she get in touch with one of those two institutes or similar. Personally I think her daughter has got a good head on her shoulder.

Yes I do and if she gets plenty of veggies and fruits with fiber such as Flax meal she will be fine. I do eat cereals with soy milk which is probably not raw but it is healthy and I like it.I do feel that a little cooked food like salmon is healthy but if you want all raw I think it is good and if you also juice some you can really detox your body. Good Luck. There is a wonderful book out you can buy called RAW .You should take a vitamin supplement as all of the food now is lacking in nutrients because of excessive farming practices.

If you are talking about raw veggies and fruits, they are healthy and should be okay for a few days. Remember though, that she could still be growing, and that both of you should eat "normal" meals and take supplements and vitamins that this raw diet could be lacking (B vitamins, and others). At least you should be taking multivitamins.

I have not heard of this diet, but would do some research on it for the sakes of your daughter and yourself. Good luck.

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

I say you should wait after a month or whatever time thats appropriet, to see if there are any bad signs or other things before she tries it. I wouldn't let my 14 yr old do it to tell you the truth. because she doesn't need it and maybe not the best thing for her body because shes still young. Anyways, just a thought.

NO. And I don't think you should either, unless you are talking just vegetables and fruits. They have a raw diet for dogs that includes raw chicken. I don't recommend raw meat for anyone.....
