I don't know the correct wording for you state (since it varries from state to state), but it would most likely fall into Assault or Battary (depending upon what happened to you).
At the very least, the person could be charged with disorderly conduct... assuming of course you wish to press charges.
p.s. again, depending upon what state you live in, the "hate crime" mentioned by the person above me may not apply (you would have to show intent that the only reason the person did this to you was because you are handicapped)... most likely you can get the state's attorney/police to aggrevate the charge to a higher class of misdemeanor/felony because you are handicapped.

I think such people are truly blessed because Allah put them in a unique position. I'm not saying their lives are easy, I understand they suffer a lot and can not enjoy the basics of life. On the other hand, they're as innocent as a newborn, because they didn't choose to live that way, it was Allah's decision. Instead, I think we should remind ourselves that such people exist to test the normal people (us) and we're the ones Allah is looking at more because we're the ones who have the ability to help and take care of them. Heaven has no ailments, no diseases, no mental or physical problems. So obviously these people would be normal too, and happy.

Yes, it is called assault in most states. Many states only require that someone be verbally abusive to constitute assault. If they actually hit you or push you it is then referred to as assault and battery.
If they pushed you down because you are disabled or because they saw you as an easy target then it can also be considered a hate crime.
I would press charges........... but do it soon.

It's called assault, If it was done because you are disabled then it is a hate crime. You need to file a report. You have plenty of advice on that so I hope you can see the vote is unanimous.

This is assault, but it is also the INTENTIONAL TORT OF BATTERY. If you incurred any damages (medical bills, permanent injury, loss of work), you probably have a case. The next important question that you have to ask yourself if DOES THIS INDIVIDUAL HAVE ANY ASSETS? If the answer is no, then it may not be worth suing. You should seek a personal injury attorney that SPECIALIZES in LITIGATION.

It is illegal. Anytime that you harm a disabled person whether you knew that they were disabled or not it is a crime. As a matter a fact anytime that you knowingly harm any person it is a crime.......it's called assault.

Assault and Battery plus sue the loser for emotional damage. Get that idiot's name out there. Plaster the face everywhere. BUT, sorry, you didn't instigate him or her, did you? If it could be proven that this person was provoked, then you haven't got a leg to stand on (sorry for the in bad taste pun...)
