we recently visited a dollar store and tried to bring back some pop bottles for the deposit. . they told us they don't take them back. but they sell pop there. so basically they are charging bottle deposit and keeping it. how do i report this?

Defintiely contact the company where the pop is from. They will more than likely pull the acct from the store....If they sell it, they are obligated to give back the deposit especially if they charged you a deposit for it in the first place...

good luck hunni

What? I think I'm just confused. Don't they just take pop bottles for deposits in Michigan?

call the pop company...."coke" or "pepsi" , or whoever and ask for customer service and explain the situation to them and see if they can help you.

Or, you can take the bottles back to any store that offers the refund on the deposit...doesn't have to be the store you bought the product from.

Did they charge a specific deposit on top of the soda fee ?

And really, just take it to the grocey store and why worry about it

It must be nice to have such IMPORTANT issues to worry about. The rest of us are concerned with very trivial things like our country being invaded, etc. Wow! Lucky you.

Can't you just return them somewhere else? Like a grocery store?

I'm sure that Homeland Security would be interested in this.
