why do american girls and boys have sex on prom night? its not like that anywhere else in the world>>>> can't they wait till their married instead?

I so agree with you. Sex is supposed to be for marraige! Why waste something so special to early?! At least one person agrees with me!

It's a habit that used to be beneficial to the country when there was no anti-pregnancy tools, forced the young to pair up, start working and produce a new generation, and was therefore widely supported by entertainment.
Guess it stayed since sex is something most people want to do and being a virgin is a big problem for young people in social contacts with their peers.

Its a very special night (most guys dont care where when or who) and girls consider it a time to "offically" be a woman..like that usually means they are out of highschool now and all they need is that last push to show that they are ready for the world...most of the time though it is just a little tradition for most people and we just do what we do...go with the flow if you will...

Because for a lot of young men and women this is the most romantic time of their life and if they have been dating the same person for a while than this is the best time to experience this. Not everyone is a good little Christian that tells no lies and does not mess around.

Who the hell would want to... prom is about going from kid to adult, commoning of age and rites of passage... Losing virginity to become grown up is part of that.
Absteinance hurts , they don't want to hurt anymore.
You just need condoms and the pill to stop deseases and stds.
Why wait? you are wasting you best years... marriage is for old folk over 30 after they travelled the world, did everything they wanted to do, developed a career, having tried everything, done all the partying and clubbing etc...
As a teenager you feel the most love, most emotions etc.
What is marriage? stupid formal party, followed by fights, babies which totally ruin your life, then divorces where you loose your stuff then get separarted from your kids. Then find out you are to old to go clubbing and ever find anyone to love you again either ending up with vibrators and a cat or porn and hookers.
Oh and funding an evil organistation called the church who thoruhgout history did nothing more then introduce the murder in most agoniasing ways possible, torutre and rape army for centuries called the inquisition, witch burning those decent enough to cure the sick, abuse those who are affectionate, be mean to kids who love each other NOT to get married,
Mess up Sex ed, contraception with the intention of making girls pregnant to ruin their lives and trap them, along with all the unfair sexisim and then you have all the abuse of the nice decent gays , plus the organised abuse of more then 30,000 girls and children in kids homes and magdelen laundries where girls were enslaved and torutred for on average 60 years each plus.
You marraige is crap... People who live together like that with daft rules cease to feel as cease to want to make out all the time.
Plus marriage is a death cult thing...

its tradition. in england,bristol we have nra night instead of prom,and we ride round in limos and get dropped to a big party and normally a lot of the love making happens in the toiletts (classy!) so maybe its better that its arranged,so that its more special! :)

promenade is variety of a ceremony of passage to school they dress up evening gowns tuxedos limos and they celebration at an section the position that is held. frequently getting a inn or going to a resturant later.

because everyone here thinks sex=fun and it's "the normal " thing to do. i don't care though cuz i come from a strict spanish household n' i don't play that. if someone tries to to have sex w/ u tell them to "go somewhere else"!!!! trust me they won't have a hard time finding other people up for the stupididty!!!!!!!!!!!!

It IS like that in other parts of the world...
Im in the UK (Northern Ireland to be precise) and we have pretty much the same thing only its called a Formal. Me and my boyfriend stayed in the hotel that night... and im sure we werent the only ones lol. whats so bad about that?
