Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I tried to find these Websites below, but first put into the search box "sex kitten". Of course it didn't work out until I modified my search to "determine kitten sex". I hope this helps.

I just got a Ragdoll from a breeder about a month and a half ago. The breeder swore it was female, but it turned out male! My vet also thought it was female the first time I brought him in (he was about 8 weeks old). Apperantly it can be tough to sex a kitten for the first couple of months as their "parts" are still developing. Mine started to show testicles only about two weeks ago! From my "research" I learned that a female has a little slit closer to the bum, while the male has a bit more "rounded" opening that is farther away from the bum. There are alot of sites out there that have diagrams to help you figure it out. Good luck!

When I got my 2 kittens I already had girl names picked out for them and when I got them to the vet they were both boys. So I think there is no way to tell until you take it to the vet.

The answer to this is "by very close inspection" and you may have to use your finger. The difference is there. The link I put under "Sources" that will run a Yahoo! web search with the query { sexing kittens }. All of the top ranked results appear helpful for this.

female cats will have a "teardrop" shaped opening (vulva) directly below their rectum, and male cats will have about a 1/4 inch of space (usually there will be a line where the fur parts) and then you will see a smaller "teardrop" shaped opening. male cats will often have developed testicles by 12 weeks, so you can also check for those. both genders will have nipples, so that's not going to help you (men have nipples too....it's the same thing).
hope that helps.

at the risk of sounding childish---if the holes are about 1/4 inch apart, it is female, if they are 1/2 inch apart, it is male

if its calico they are normally always girls. you should be able to tell if your kitty is male or female pretty easily as long as its not really young. the boys have balls and the girl won't its just like humans.
