I lost over 50 lbs. - went from about 200 to 140/145ish - but acted up after I got married and gained 20 back! YIKES! But I am back on Phase 1 right now - I usually drop between 7-10 lbs. in the first two weeks - and slowly drop the rest after going on phase 2. I love it - it is an awesome diet depending on how your body chemistry is. If you gain weight on the top half of your body, it is especially effective. Good luck!

South Beach Diet follows the same concepts as Jenny and LA and (get ready for a shell shocker) your doctor. All four diets suggest a well balanced diet consiting of plenty of fruits and veggies, while ensuring you get in your proteins and enough carbs to prevent low-blood sugar.
I have tried several diets includding south beach and lost weight on all of them. The key to any diet is to maintain the diet and form good habits. You can not jit your ideal weight and then hit KFC for a bucket of chicken.
South beach is a great diet though and I did lose about 20 pounds before stopping .
